Is Apple overrated? · 3:08pm Jul 11th, 2020
Any Apple product, be it an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, etc., is expensive as hell. The iPhone 11 costs $699 for original, $999 for Pro and $1,099 for Pro Max and the starting price for MacBook Air 2020 is $999. I happen to have a smartphone that only costs $200.
No kidding. My 2016 Macbook Air, which is the previous laptop, cost me $1800 when I bought it in January 2018. And its overall capabilities were suboptimal, to put it nicely. It would often freeze for minutes whenever I connected it to power, not to mention it lagging whenever I tried to run heavy-duty software like video editors. This is partly my fault, as I didn't pay attention to maintaining its performance, but still.
Despite that, I did get a 3-year-old 2017 Macbook Pro from my friend as a replacement, since using a Macbook does have its advantages. But even with those, I don't think they should cost $2000 just because it has the Apple logo on it.
