I've made a new lifestyle choice. (No, I'm being serious.) · 12:49pm Jul 6th, 2020
Well, I've finally cut the cord on something you might call me crazy for.
I'm not going to drink carbonated drinks anymore. At all.
I do have my reasons, and a very good one, but I'm honestly not a fan like I used to be. As much as I love Coke Zero, the damage that stuff can do to you...well, there's a video of it on YouTube. If you haven't seen it yet, go check it out. It's...thought-provoking. Did I mention it has the power to quickly make you switch drink choice to water?
That's all I had to say. As you were.

Drinking them in moderation shouldn’t hurt.
I have like one or two a week, it shouldn’t be terrible.
I also drink like 5 cups of water a day regardless (not even including the water in food).
My biggest problem is carbs, I can eat to a hundred of those a day.

You don't get it. I can't drink that stuff even in moderation anymore, not only because I don't want to drink it anymore, but because of another reason that I'd rather not take the risk on. I wasn't talking about because I wanted to be healthier. (I'm not a healthy person in general, but I'm doing a bit better on it. That's what chocolate does to you, boi! )
On the carbs thing, I hear ya. I don't drink anything unless it's the 'Light' version. (Speaking of, I bought a Ribena light for the first time in years. It's not the same as I remember, but for a 'light' drink, I noticed that it was too sweet to me to be considered anything in the realm of 'light'. I smell blackcurrant-scented bullshit!
I've switched to drinking mainly water. Very rarely I'll go for juice drinks. I went off them years ago and aren't a big fan anymore. Must be an age thing (?)
Switch to coffee, and if you're worried about health, you can always reduce it to one cup per day:

Again, y'all don't get it. I can't drink anything that's coffee, carbonated or full of caffeine, not even decaf. All I'm allowed is green tea (decaf, as this is the most minimal), water and juice drinks, like cranberry. That's literally it. As much as I like the coffee flavour, I'm not a fan of it at all. I'd love to be drinking Earl Grey right now, but, as I said above, I can't do that.
There are reasons why I'm not allowed to do these things, why it's so heavily advised that I don't put that stuff in my body, but I'm seriously not wanting to go into details on it as of this moment. I'd rather it be left at that. (No, it's not a choice I would want to make, but I have no choice. )

Hmm, the way you wrote that blog suggested 'I won't drink!' instead of 'I can't drink...' at least that's how I read it .
Now, if you have a valid medical reason, that's one thing, and you have my condolences. But, if the only reason is that video on YT then two things you should know:
That said, drink whatever works for you. I know I won't give up my black good EVER
*gasp* I could never

Meh, not like I've got a choice. Read the comments below and you'll find out.
I only like Coke Zero as is, with vanilla or with cherry. I don't like much of anything else, but I can't drink it right now. I'm not going to risk drinking anything carbonated until I know what's going on with me. It's been half a year without it and I can say with some assurance that I don't feel as crappy as I used to.

Well I hope you find out what is up, and do what makes you feel best
