So... it's a tag now. I guess it was inevitable. I wonder if previous-gen tags will happen. And what about G5?

I’m not sure about previous Gen tags since this website been around for almost 10 years and they didn’t add previous Gen tags at all! I guess many people remember Gen 4 more than previous Gen.

Although, I could picture them adding Gen 5 tag on next year or so since new MLP movie is way to kick off Generation 5 Pony with Pony Life being transitional period between Gen 4 and Gen 5.

That’s my guess.

It was inevitable, indeed. Least we won't get many fics for this show. It is bad and the fandom treats it bad, so it won't catch on, thankfully.
And for earlier generations, no, there really shouldn't be any tags for this. That G4 is so vastly better than everything that "My Little Pony" was before 2010 is one of the core aspects why we grouped ourselves around Friendship is Magic.

Yeah, I feel My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic without no doubt is the most iconic iteration of MLP because a lot of folks talk about Generation 4 more than previous 3 generations.

Although, It’s going to be tough act to follow for Generation 5 since people love Generation 4 ponies so much that how can the potential main cast of Generation 5 live up to the expectation?

Hopefully Generation 5 will be way better than Pony Life and can give more content for the Fimfiction website or else this website will be dead without any new content from the franchise. Maybe we could get a fic where Generation 4 ponies (Mane Six) crossover with Generation 5 ponies. (Just saying)

It will give more content, there is no doubt about that. Something with a bigger likeliness to worry about is how G5 will affect the G4 fandom and those who are sworn to G4 and Equestria. If G5 is a reboot, then many people will create for it and I am worried that, granted that G5 becomes popular, creations for it will vastly outnumber G4 creations.
I am hoping for a sequel with G5, that Hasbro keeps realizing the potential of G4 and will greenlight a show that has the same universe and world. But if G5 is a reboot, a new place only for the G4 community might have to get established, so that the G4 community won't be drowned out by a budding and growing G5 reboot community.

Well, I thought the possibility of Generation 5 features new set of the main ponies since Tara Strong says Twilight won’t be part of Generation 5.

In fact there weren’t Fluttershy in previous generations because according to Lauren Faust, the character is inspired by G1 EARTH Pony named Posey.

Goes same for Rarity who was inspired by G1 ponies Glory and Sparkler and Rainbow Dash who was fashionata Earth pony in G3 was given a personality of G1 Pegasus Pony Firefly.

The only two who were from the original Generation they use for Generation 4 is Applejack and Spike.

So like I said, it’s possibility we will introduced to new set of main ponies for Generation 5 cause not every generation is same but that’s my guess.

She said this, but this does not necessarily mean that G5 is a reboot. Equestria is a vast and rich kingdom, with many places that the show has only scratched behind the ears or even hasn't touched at all. And even the Movie hasn't shown us the whole scope of Equus, so there are many places beyond Equestria that we don't know, as well. Who can tell what pony societies live there?
A Generation 5 sequel without Twilight is perfectly imaginable.
And, ironically, Tara Strong's statement is another confirmation for it that the G5 Reboot leaks are fake, which increases the likelihood of a sequel for Generation 5.

Then, You got nothing to worried about.

If she states the whole G5 reboot leaks are fake, that’s mean G5 won’t be a full-on reboot. (Plus, why would do another reboot since they’re already did with Pony Life which is TTG-type reboot-ish)

Most likely the new main cast for G5 are probably are from locations that we haven’t been before or something like that. (That’s my guess)

She did not say that the G5 Reboot leaks are fake. But the leaks showed that Twilight will be in G5, as earth pony, so Tara Strong saying that Twilight will not even be in Generation 5 is contradicting the claim the leaks made and, thus, rendering them fake.
It's not a guarantee that G5 will be a sequel, either, sadly. But it gives reason to hope. A G5 sequel instead of reboot would be the best for the show, for our fandom and for Hasbro as well. It just needs a smart decision being made now and then we are set. I hope Hasbro will be smart.

They’re better not make same mistake as those CN Executives did with Teen Titans Go!, hopefully G5 won’t be like Teen Titans Go-type show compare to Pony Life.

Just give me something that have a good storytelling and not some lazy cash-in TTG-type show.
