Albums I'm Listening To This Month [May 2020]
Been a while since I've done this.
I should probably start with something like hi? I'm making a noncommittal return to writing here again. Sort of just meandering through life right now, though with how the year's shaping up to be, aren't we all?
I haven't really updated anything in a long time too. Can't say that I might update something sooner than later though, so apologies if you guys and gals have been waiting on me. I'll briefly elaborate on what I'm thinking of doing with some of my bigger stories in a moment.
Currently, I'm kind of just lingering about here and there, doing either some writing or music-listening or a mixture of both. Pony-wise, I'm lurking in the FimFic Discord chat as well as the The WriteOff Association— feel free to hit me up if you want to chat, by the way! I'm actually a lot more active on the WriteOff these days, mostly writing and doing a fair bit of reviewing work a well. I'm kinda enjoying the latter, frankly, though I do spend a lot of time on that, which is probably eating away at what little writing I've been doing.
Speaking of which, there's a lot of stuff I've been working on behind the scenes:
I'm in the middle of allocating times for these as well as for some of my unfinished multi-chapter stories. Some of these came from me participating in the WriteOffs, though they're becoming a lot larger than I initially conceived them to be. At the moment, I'm working on Starlings and sparing a few more minutes to proofread my latest additions to Penumbra and Decadence before moving onto the stories I've already published.
Speaking of which! Segue!
Diprosopus is, unfortunately, the story I'm sure I won't be updating anymore. No surprises there. It's sad because it and Laurels, the prequel, was what really got me to writing pony words in the first place. There's a lot of stuff that went into those stories (and stuff that haven't made it in yet) that I'll cherish, however. I will say though, I'm up for giving this story up for adoption if you're supremely eager to see it to completion.
Perhaps Death, on the other hand, is still a story I'm very much enjoying. I haven't got back to it lately and the latest chapter is still stuck halfway to completion. I'll definitely be updating it in the coming months though, so be on the lookout!
Lovely Days is the other story that has been deep-frozen for a while. I'll get back to it eventually because I still have stuff I want to write that would frankly only fit in that particular story. It's not something I'm returning very soon but it's still likely that I'll be writing for it in the future.
Worlds is probably the most immense story I have planned out. I might pull it back the whole thing just so I can actually finish it and properly release it. There's a lot of work for this story, so it still sits on some weird form of limbo where I'm working on the stuff surrounding the story but not the story itself. Nonetheless, I plan to finish it, no matter what.
Feyspeak and Panthalassa are both being slowly updated, the latter in particular. I'm thinking of pulling back and republishing Panthalassa's latest chapter actually. Just want to tweak the ending so as to give the characters a bit more breathing room to interact and be, well, characters. Similarly, I'm slowing things a bit with Feyspeak as well. Don't want to jump in one action after another for what is ultimately a character-driven story, after all.
Also, Panatrophia was a thing I wrote.
It's something that just came out of the blue and I needed to get it out of my system. Seeing the Barcast's April horror contest just gave me the incentive to pursue it properly. In the end, it came out a little different than I initially planned but it's pretty much still the story I wanted to tell. I'm kinda happy with it.
So yeah, all that aside, I'm hoping I can get something else up on this site by the end of the year. Could be a chapter or a new story, anything really. Don't wanna be too quiet.
Back to writing it is.
It's good to have you back. I miss your artsiness.
