First Blog Post

So have been wanting to write a fic here basically since I first discovered this site over half a decade ago. With college over for the semester, the pandemic, and the show being over; I finally decided to create an account.

Know this site probably isn't as popular as it was in ye olden days but if anyone reads whatever mediocre thing I write here, think I will be satisfied tbh. If nothing else it will prove a challenge for myself to write thousands of coherent words that have a semblance of structure and creativity lol. While I think I can write *decently* and once kept a diary for years in which many entries were pages long, I can't say I have ever ventured into creative writing past school work in high school. Still is something I have wanted to do and considering the most amount of fictional work I have read has been on this site, figured now is finally the best time to try before this site ends or is completely forgotten about.

Now a fascinating thing about writing fanfiction after the source material has finished is that the author of said fanfiction doesn't have to worry about a new episode, book, comic-book, movie, etc making their fan work not align with canon. This being said I honestly do not know much about the MLP canon past the season 3 finale and what I have inferred from reading on here. Even if I knew the complete canon I would likely make any stories I wrote alt-universe anyway but still would like to create a timeline of all the important events in canon as a reference.

Speaking of, I do remember that a ton of important events in the mlp canon have happened almost exactly a millennia before the show starts (such as the banishment of Luna, some stuff with Discord including I believe his encapsulation in stone, that Tirek fellow did something then I think, etc). I have an idea in my head for a fic set at that time which I would imagine could be fairly interesting, especially with how *coincidentally* all those events seem to happen roughly at the same time. Considering how empty the rest of the canon seems to be, is especially odd. Have my own story ideas but would probably not be a bad idea to also look into some stories set in that time period.

Reminds me that there is a story on here was wanting to favorite written by a swiss guy, forgot the name of the story (was a trilogy if I recall with the last part not written when I was originally reading). Was a human in Equestria story about an immortal set a few millennia in the past from the show. Was good, hopefully can find it again. Don't plan for my story to be really anything like that but was very well written. Similar concept and all with being set multiple centuries in the past however.

Anywho uhh, that all for now (God I suck at endings lol).
