Hey, Epilogue is just about ready! · 5:31am Apr 30th, 2020
So, in order to combat the writers block that has developed and has prevented me from working more on the second book, I have finished the epilogue. I wanted to experiment a little with Celestia here, and as such her speech is inter-spaced with other events, like how a commander gives a speech, but what is shown on screen is the actual battle he's prepping his troops for. I really hope I did it justice, but it's something I was experimenting with, so I'd understand if you felt I didn't do it right. It wouldn't be too hard to reorganize it, to make Celestia's speech all one part, with the other bits happening either before or after, but still, let me know what you think.
As for me, I'm getting back to work on the second book. Once I'm finished with that, I can start working on the fourth book in this series. Though, after an ending like this, I'm fairly certain this still can be called a trilogy. You know, like how R.A. Salvatore has his books set up. Multiple sagas, trilogies and other such things, it's just that they all revolve around the same group of characters and the same world. The next book will definitely be a continuation, and we'll definitely see more of our favorite computer programmer turned bio-weapon, but for the most part, Alex's adventure here is over.
If you'd like to be my wingponies, and take a look at it before I publish it and tell me where my mistakes lie, you can find it here:
Aaaah! I can't wait for the next book!
For what it's worth I think it works.
Demons run when a good race goes to war.
That funeral was deeply, deeply, touching.
Unless you focus on the hunt for the remaining Krin for your fourth book (and I hope you don't, since there are plenty of stories to tell outside of war), then your next one is going to be very different. I'm curious about when you think we'll see it; you got the first chapters of What I Am out less than a week after the last epilogue.
