Hearth's Warming Tidbit 16: The Four Towers of Faith · 9:21pm Apr 22nd, 2020
Sorry for post this one so late, last week was utter chaos. But here is the biggest tidbit for this season, though don't assume multiple pages. I only covered the base knowledge needed to understand this monument. Also warning for chapter 17, hints to what will happen in that chapter as well as massive hints to even season 3 will be given here. so tread carefully. This won't be the only time this monument appears in the story.

Created nearly eight thousand years before the events of Journey To Hearth’s Warming, the four towers stand as the last monument to the faith the unicorns once had in the alicorns. Forge to honor the mighty immortals when they created the country for each race to live in. Sure every species made their own monument, but the Four Towers of Faith was the last one not claimed by the passage of time.
Standing two hundred and forty-two stories at the height point it an impressive piece of architecture. The four towers perfectly circle around a center point, a massive orb standing ten stories tall and nearly ten wide. The orb with a wall made completely out of perfectly shaped geode that is so clear through magic it gives the likeness of the orb being nearly invisible.
The building was maintained for several millennia up until the reign of unicorn ruler, Sir Sereal Platinum, father of the current ruler of unicorns, Princess Platinum.
Sir Sereal fell behind on the upkeep of the towers due to troubles in his rule. In particular, the heavy sickness of his daughter. She was born very sick and rather than upholding the honor of the alicorns that watched over his land for so long he pleaded and demanded for help. Help they could not give.
Alicorns had put forth that they wouldn’t ever get involved in the fate of mortals and this creed fell over the sickness of this princess as well. It was unsure if it was out of rage toward the alicorns or sorrow for his own daughter that Sir Sereal gave up watch over the towers and secluded himself to his travels in search of a cure. However, one thing is known for sure that towers couldn’t keep their incredible beauty forever. Soon looters and packrats pillaged the graceful towers of anything of worth and value.
This abandonment of duty soon came back to haunt to poor Sir Sereal. For though he finally found a cure for his daughter's sickness, he quickly fell ill in the search and mysteriously died shortly after his daughter regained her health. Leaving his daughter at a far younger age than most and his funeral, his honoring of life shamed by the growing disdain of the alicorns that no longer cared to watch over the kingdom they were once so close to.
None of the alicorns mourned for this lone ruler’s death, only for the loss of the Four Towers of Faith. It still stands, but now a shadow of its former beauty.
