New story Idea, need feedback · 1:53am Mar 27th, 2020
Hello there everyone, I know that I've been silent these last weeks, and I know that I've let my story with only 2 chapters, the third is almost ready for a long time, but I can't get my lazy ass to finish, it. To be honest, I wanted to write this thing for a long time, but again, lazy as hell.
Anyways, this new history would be based on the game "Distant Worlds: Universe", which is a 4x game set in a variable galaxy ( nothing new there ), but what amazed me about that game, is the little details that the developers put in it, the game not only simulates your control over your forces, but also it simulates the private industries that work alongside you. Lets say, on a game like Stellaris, for example, when you colonize a new planet, you need to go in there and create every single construction, be it civi or mili, meanwhile on DWU, when you colonize a new world, the private industries will deliver everything necessary to the colony. But if you don't have an important material for your new spaceport or defense station? You will have to wait for another species to deliver that material or resort to the pirates.
But I think that I'm getting a little off topic here, I'm doing a play-through through it right now, the Idea would be that I would start a new game, play to a certain point where there is a war and I lose an Important character, be it a Fleet Admiral or a ship commander, and at that moment, I would put an Black Hole Ex Machina moment where everything there would be sucked or destroyed and the story started there.
So, what do you guys think? Go ahead?
Edit: I'm playing with the "AI Improvement Mod" as the Caleph species. From my understanding of the short description, they are essentially non-fire breathing dragons. Currently playing a custom game starting from the "Age of Shadows" which is a "scenario" where most species, except for a few which became pirates, lost all of their space faring technology in an even called "The Great Forgetting".
