The End of an Era

Hey.

Boy, it's been a while.
You probably didn't expect to ever hear from me again, but I came back one last time.
A few weeks ago, I decided to watch through season 9. I had been loosely keeping up with the show, watching a season just for the hell of it, and then I heard that the series was ending with its ninth season. I was a bit surprised, but... honestly, I'm glad it didn't overstay its welcome. I personally really liked season 9, it had a lot of hitters and did a good job of wrapping up a lot of subplots, and ultimately bring the show to a satisfying close. The finale itself brought me to tears - not because I was sad to see it go, quite the opposite, in fact. I'm glad it ended on such a satisfying note. It just hit me hard, that this show had dominated a whole era of my life, inspiring me to really pursue writing. All the memories, not just from the show itself, but from the fandom, the writing, and the friends I made along the way all came flooding back to me, and I realized I never really put a bookend on this era of my life.
So that's what I'm doing.
I'm finally closing this chapter of my life, with the closing of the show. It only feels right. Figured I'd give it one last hurrah before moving on. And, of course, I can always come back to look at the memories, it's not like they're going anywhere. I'll be lingering around for a few more days/weeks, so if you'd like to chat and catch up, I'd love to talk to you guys (for those who are still listening). I know a lot's happened in the show since I've been active in the community. Discord continues to be amazing and remains my #1 in the show, but I also have a new favorite that quickly stole my heart.

Look at this bad-ass bitch.

She's the best, I love her. Her motives as a villain and her reformation were maybe a bit weak, but the character she became after was probably one of the most well-written on the show, in my opinion.
Apart from Starlight, there's a lot to talk about, sooo many episodes that I really liked, but I won't get into that here. Like I said, I'll be around for a while, so I'm willing to catch up if anyone wants to chat.

It's crazy to me that this all started on one fateful fourth of July back in 2012. I had heard of this silly show on numerous occasions and decided to check it out. It's been nearly eight years since then.

Boy. I'm getting old.

It's been a wild ride, guys. Thanks for taking interest in my writing, whether or not it was deserved.
As silly as it feels that my life was so influenced by this crazy show, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Keep on being amazing, folks.
