Does anybody remember when this existed and the new version thankfully didn't? · 5:49pm Mar 9th, 2020
Yes, I'm talking about the latest trend for caramel lovers: Caramel. Just plain, ordinary, golden-coloured, sweet caramel. It's that stuff that you find in Cadbury's Curly Wurly bars, before they made it soft because kids complain about biting through the good stuff.
Caramel, with the implementation of Salted Caramel, has gone extinct. I haven't seen an ordinary caramel anything anywhere. Just salted. Salted yoghurts, salted ice cream, salted cupcake, salted liquors...for the love of christ, stop! I'm literally sick of seeing it everywhere. It's like this stupid unicorn-themed junk that has literally no appeal to anybody apart from those girly-girls out there that fantasise about unicorns and all things magical like Agnes from Despicable Me.
I would love to have one of those trips down to the shops where I can find an ordinary, salt-free caramel chocolate something and go back to a nostalgic childhood of sweetness. Those days of bliss are no longer found anywhere. I don't get why everything somehow necessitates having salt in it in today's market. It's ridiculous and often unnecessary. I can't even drink a caramel macchiato without it being salted, and it ruins the taste!
So, which of you remember the days of pure, sweet caramel without the stupid addition of salt in it? I say we should abolish all salted caramel products!
I can still find regular caramel and chocolate
