So, after reading fanfiction and fimfiction for a better part of a decade Thank god I did, high school was utter insanity wrapped with a ribbon stupidity, and some of the story ideas floating around my head are annoying enough to make me at least write SOMETHING. Now I know that there are very small of people that follow me For some reason, not implying it's bad, just strange, that will actually read this.

Now, I have a couple of story ideas in mind that can believably written by me, because how long it's been since I've either read/played some these games/books, or I know little to jack about some others. These ones I can confidently write as a crossover:

Lost Planet, not including the third one: I'd have to replay one and two again, to get the base canon of the series, so that references made will be canon, not speculation on my part.

Darkwood: A horror game that (everyone should play) is more of an interpretive story telling experience, which would make it easier to write some of my thoughts on certain key points in the game, with my first and second play through as a basis.

Space Engineers: Sandbox game, do what you want, build what you want. No in game story, could weave a story together about how the engineer (unnamed for now) has a malfunction with their warp drive, crash lands on Equestria, work on it from there.

Sekiro / souls series: Played the first three games (sorry demon souls and bloodborne) know a large amount of the lore (interpretative). Sekiro would also be easy, since I played that game to death, 100% it with a no charm run (Painful).

Mordhau: Either comedic or serious fighting, maybe both, dunno.

Self-Insert / Displaced: I know there's a certain stigma against Self-Inserts, since most of the time they're massive Gary Stus or Mary Sues, this story idea is by far no exception, but has bothered me awhile to write. Displaced would be interesting to write, especially with some other stories on the site I could draw some inspiration from, and learn to not repeat the same mistakes IE feeling rush, poor grammar, moving at break neck speed, etc. .

Now for the REAL problem: I know next to nothing about the FIM universe, apart from some clips on YT, here's the uncomfortable question I have: do I watch the show, understand what the canon is, and break it where I want, or go in with my own head canon of the series and go from there. If you guys n' gals want to share this with some other people or more experienced writers, be my guest, but this was mainly put out so I can see all of my cards on the table, so to speak.

You know the basics of Fim right? If so then a human or something appearing will upset the canon to no small degree simply for the sheer amount of change that a person can do to a world not accustomed to our brand of chaotic order.

Bare minimum: Ponies are united in harmony together, and without each-other to lean, are much weaker in comparison.
As I said, I know almost jackall :derpytongue2:, 'cept for some tid bits here and there.

Right maybe just read the canonical major events then.
The changeling swarm invasion and such
