Thanks. I find I enjoy drawing ugly ponies.
But it's worth mentioning I'm not trying to imply ugly people are evil.
In fact, I'm working along Roald Dahl's theory in The Twits that 'Being evil makes you ugly over time'.
I tried to make some of the heroes look rather odd but their goodness shines through which means one can't really call them 'ugly'.
It's also worth noting that the three bottom rows are ponies from the Outskirts where...inbreeding is common.

I imagine that there's a certain subversive thrill to be had in drawing ugly ponies. Normally so many of the regular ones are cute or at least inoffensive-looking... and then you have *these* faces. XD
Works for me. It's a good theory I think. And that reminds me, I haven't read one of Dahl's books in forever...
