List of countries I never want to visit due to violence against LGBT people · 8:29am Feb 7th, 2020
Brunei
Jamaica
Russia
Saudi Arabia
Majority of countries in the Middle East except Israel
Majority of countries in Africa except South Africa
Some countries in Asia
Some countries in the Americas
Countries in the Pacific Islands
I have a firm belief about humanity over culture and it’s so upsetting that LGBT people in those countries experience violence, discrimination, imprisonment, and execution just because they’re different from the rest of society. Just goes to show how fucked up this world is until today.
I’m continuously hoping that things would get better in the future, but people can’t seem to open their minds and come to terms that there are people who are different when it comes to beliefs, opinions, views, perspectives, race, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
The countries I listed above are backward-thinking, narrow-minded, strictly straight territories. For them to say that hating and ostracizing the LGBT people is “part of the culture” is fucking disgusting. Their “culture” is a toxic one, no doubt about it.
I may be fortunate that I’m born in a country where gays are treated with compassion and respect, but it’s discouraging that the influence of the Catholic Church has prevented my country from moving forward. On a side note, the Philippines is one of the two countries where divorce is illegal (Vatican City being the other one).
To wrap up this blog post, I would like to remind the world that we are all human and we share the same color of blood. Whatever negative thoughts they have about them, those are stereotypes that are based on ignorance and fear.

Lucky you. Majority of Europe is LGBT-friendly.

I'm angry too when people spread animosity to things they can't open their minds to. Whenever I scroll on Facebook, seeing news about homophobia just puts my mood down.
Good to know that your city banned conversion therapy. Talking about it reminded me of the suicide of Leelah Alcorn because her parents refused to accept her for who she is.
As a Christian, I don't give full support to an LGBT person's lifestyle, I do not believe it to be appropriate. At the same time, I also believe it is their choice if they want to, and while I do not agree with what they do, I will defend their right to live their lives the way they want. I do not believe God stops viewing them as his children even if he does not approve of their choices, I do not believe it alone is enough for God to close his doors to them. As such, I do not believe we have the rights to persecute or harm them either.

People who use religion to hurt others is the reason why I became an atheist. For them to say that God hates gays and/or gays will roast in hell is just preposterous. They just don't learn a thing or two from Pope Francis as he suggested that it's better to be an atheist than one of many Catholics who he said lead a hypocritical double life. He also said that the Church should apologize to gay people for the way it has treated them and he also said to a gay man, "God made you like this. God loves you like this. The Pope loves you like this and you should love yourself and not worry about what people say". The man happens to be a survivor of sexual abuse by a Chilean priest. I admire the Pope for being open-minded, kind-hearted, merciful, and compassionate towards the LGBT community. He has the right mindset and beliefs that reflect the current times.

Yeah, I get you. In other words, they carry some sort of confidence/overconfidence in them, is it?
I just read a few articles about the Vatican that issued a document last year that denies the concept of gender identity.
