Secret to Getting a Ton of Work Done. A Skele-ton. · 5:56am Feb 7th, 2020

You can use this tip, but you are going to have a bad time.

A fun place to browse sometime is the FanFicWit reddit.

You get gems like:

(Direct link in case it's too small to read. https://i.redd.it/pw85n93yzye41.jpg )

The last part is particularly profound:

[...]when we normally write we don’t use a “finished font” like Goudy or Bookman or what have you, even though these look really nice, we stick with Times New Roman or Arial. And not just because they’re the default either; when you make a mistake or write something stupid in bookman it feels more like an affront to the art of writing than it does when you make the same mistake in Arial. And letting yourself get distracted by mistakes even a tiny bit will compound over a long essay.

[...] Comic Sans? It’s like the doodling-on-lined-paper-instead-of-your-nice-sketchbook of fonts, except it doesn’t take much effort at all to switch it over to a nice finished font when you’re done. It’s a font that says “yeah, you’re a small child working with crayons, it doesn’t matter what mistakes you make because you’re never gonna let anyone see it in this format anyhow”.

I find Helvetica is a happy medium between "A professional publisher wants to know my location" and "I am creating a block of memes." But I could definitely see this work.

Interesting theory!

I use Times New Roman because I'm an adult :trollestia:

I’ll need to experiment with this. If it works, I will have learned a piece of terrible eldritch lore.

Side note? Comic sans is a great font for dyslexia.
