So, my first blog post of 2020! Yay! Anyway, I couldn't help notice the lack of fanfictions here involvin' the Hollow Earth (far as I'm aware). Must be quite difficult to pull off, quality-wise. I'm sure.
Picture this: The Rainbooms learn of rumors of a vast world deep beneath their feet (in the vein of, say, Edgar Rice Burroughs' At The Earth's Core and Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth, and so on) and go investigate the rumors. Along the way, they meet a crew willing to go with them (with one of them having ill intentions), then they trek to the source of said rumors and check it out. Then through some mishap or plan, they come down one of the openings into the Earth and fear their imminent death, only to end up seeing' the underground world they've heard about.
Then they set off on a wild adventure to discover what they can, even learning' of Equestrian magic manifesting' even down there, deepening' the mystery. Along the way, the crews encounter a great variety of wonders and dangers, from prehistoric animals and offshoot tribes to exotic plants and ruins of past expeditions since the 1900's. What are the crews after in this proverbial lost world? Who is their enemy among them? And how will they get up top? And if they manage, how will they have been gone?
There were some stories on this site featurin' some hidden island home to Cenozoic animals in the Bakula series, so why not take Equestria Girls underground (so to speak)? But that's just me thinkin' out loud. What do you think of it...?
