Wings of Black Glass

The worst fanfic ever written is still better than the greatest story never told.

    Pony Wars

So that Pony Wars project that I’m posting the character backstories for: That’s a project trying to make a new setting for people to create stuff for. While I was initially brought in to help with some of the worldbuilding, I’ve since turned into the lead author for it. (right now the *only* author for it, but that’s another issue) Dratta Arcana is the project lead, and he wants people to

    Mask of Despair and EQD

A couple months ago, I submitted The Mask of Despair to EQD. Rejected, obviously. At the very least, they gave me some notes on it. More notes than all the other comments and messages combined. On that note: why did no one tell me it was such a mess? It’s got random capitalizations, missing words, and

    My first Shipfic

So yesterday I wrote my first Shipfic, and it’s doing alright. 60+ views, 8 upvotes, a dozen-or-so favorites. (Nothing I’ve done can come close to competing with The Alicorn Limit, though.) I had wanted to get it done for Hearts & Hooves day,

2020

Well, it’s been three weeks since I started releasing chapters for The Ash of Fallen Stars (henceforth: Fallen Stars), and the results are… disheartening. 21 days, 58 views. I’m pretty sure that’s the worst any of my stories have done. (even the less-liked ones such as “What do you think” or “The Nightmare Night Knightmare.”) I would have thought that having it show up in the updated stories section would give it a significant boost every week, but I think I’ve had maybe 3 new views this week. I’m pretty sure it’s the tags and description.

I’m awful at tags and short descriptions. Just terrible.

That said, it’s got 0 down-votes, and each week does have a bump in views and likes when I update. (:yay:?) There’s also something interesting in the statistics. Of the 58 unique views, 49 readers have put it in a bookshelf of some sort. This tells me that the few who are reading it actually like it. Although essentially no-one has read the third chapter. This tells me that a bunch of people read the first chapter and didn’t bother coming back. (I like how the statistics screen works, I don’t like what it tells me.)

On other news, I submitted The Mask of Despair to EQD. I don’t expect it to show up there, but I’ll never know unless I try… right?

(Also, for some reason, up-votes don’t show up on its embed/front page thing. Did I somehow turn that display off?)

(Very minor sidenote: I finally decided on Shadow Break's name change. He's Equinox now. I also went back and changed Auctor's name to Pendragon.)

I think that upvotes don't show up until there are at least ten of them. I'm not entirely sure though. 🤷
I'm hoping to read your story soon! I have a lot of work, and I'm trying not to get too mixed up in a good fanfic or I'll never get anything done! I'm thinking once I get another chapter of my own story out, then I'll have some time! You can expect another viewer soon, my friend. :raritywink:

I really enjoy it, it's a great sequel to the MDFH and I for one don't see why people don't stick around.
