My Movie Review of Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (Reconstructed & Re-Analyzed)

This is a completely modified version of my review on “Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island”. Along with presenting a greater sense of reconstruction to correct grammatical errors and all that sort of thing, this also presents a combination of my thoughts on the film both when I initially reviewed and re-analyzed it later the same year.

My Second List of Least Favorite Villains

My Episode Review on We Want Our Mummy · 2:33pm Jan 9th, 2020

What's up, peoples?

This is your friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.

And today, for my 22nd episode analysis, I'm gonna give you guys my take on the Three Stooges's "We Want Our Mummy".

Here's the summary of it:

In the wake of the disappearance of an egyptologist named Professor Tuttle, the museum curators Dr. Powell and Professor Wilson call upon the city's eccentric by finest detectives, the Three Stooges, to find the missing professor. After being unable to find him, though, the Stooges are told by the curators about why they wanted them to find Tuttle so badly, which is to find the mummy of a pharaoh named Rootin' Tootin' for the museum.

Deciding to make it up to the curators for being unable to find Professor Tuttle, the Stooges offer to take his place and look for the mummy. The curators accept their offer, not telling them that the mummy's tomb is cursed and promising a reward of $5,000 if successful.

Will the Stooges be able to find the mummy and evade the curse? Or not?

Having been thinking about what Three Stooges short to review next, I found myself leaning so much towards doing an analysis on this one. And let me just say that this short was definitely the one I was glad to have picked.

The direction by Del Lord, and the story by Ellwood Ullman and Searle Kramer, were absolutely fun. Among the reasons for why was because the comedy had a witty and unpredictable bite to it, and it was entertaining to see the Stooges in a role where they're accomplished and highly regarded by others despite their lack of intelligence.

The acting and characters were as excellent as ever too. As always, I enjoyed how much the Stooges threw themselves into their onscreen personas. The unique thing about their performances in this short, though, was that they showcased an ability to translate their comedic style into characters that are successful, and they did it in an extraordinary way. Plus, the supporting cast looked like they were having a great time being a part of it all.

In conclusion, "We Want Our Mummy" was an absolutely hilarious and witty installment of the Three Stooges filmography, and quite likely one of the best to be directed by Del Lord.

So, I rate "We Want Our Mummy" five out of five stars.
