IDontWatchMLP.
Definitely a weird name to chose when creating a Fimfiction account, right?
Well, not for me. You see, despite me being very well educated about MLP: Friendship is Magic and it's fandom, I've never actually watched the show as I would like my other tv shows.
Yet dispite 2 full years of studying and learning about the show from a safe distance, when also watching and reading seveal amazing fanworks, I've learned quite a lot about it's characters and world, while not getting the nerve to actually watch it.
I have to wonder. Is it possible that someone else out there in the fandom has done almost the exact same thing I have?
Possible, probably even probable. There are 7.7 Billion people on this earth alone. Not counting any parallel universes or aliens that pick up our shows.
Counting them, the numbers get much, much larger.
I haven't watched every episode, I'll admit.

I learned a lot about it before I eventually watched it. I used to be afraid of watching because I knew I would become a brony if ever I did watch the show. I knew this when I first watched a "Save Derpy" video years ago. I fulfilled managed to be a casual brony with maybe a couple funny pics/comics and some fringe knowledge about some fan works.
And here I thought you just enjoyed the company of us crazies :D
I don’t actually watch the show. I watch scenes on Youtube if I feel inclined or if I feel it helps me get the atmosphere right for my fics but I really joined more for what the fans were doing.
I’m inclined to see the show as very empowering and inspiring but whether it’s my kind of show is...something I’ve never been sure of.

Ever heard of the book series Worm? I’ve never touched a single book from it, but on Space Battle there are a TON of crossover stories that involve it. So I’ve wound up learning a whole bunch about that world from going retreading it’s stations of canon, and from plunging into the wiki so often.
