New Orleans Was Amazing!

It’s 11 O’clock over here in Florida, and we’ve been back from NOLA for an hour or so after an amazing day! Aside from finding a parking spot (tip: find a parking spot by a hotel If you go, because ain’t no way you’re gonna find a spot on the street like you think you are. We spent forty five minutes looking for a parking spot. Don’t make my mistakes folks.), we had a great day! We took a carriage tour of the French Quarter and our guide was AWESOME! We learned so much about the city! Then we went to Cafe Du Monde for Beignets and hot chocolate. The line looked scary, but it moved quickly. The Beignets were awesome, and my mom was so happy to be able to cross that off her bucket list! Hot tip though- DO NOT use the bathroom there. There’s one bathroom, that goes through the kitchen, with a huge line, and it’s a disgusting bathroom. Walk a block over and you’ll get a decent restroom. Anyways, after the Beignets we went to Marie Laveau’s House Of Voodoo where I got a book on the history of Voodoo and my mom picked my dad up a wooden flute. We went into a few shops, enjoying the magic of Bourbon Street, and mom and I got matching shirts that said “New Orleans Road Trip 2019”. Finally, we had to get some traditional Cajun cooking, so we stopped into Olde NOLA for dinner. The seafood gumbo was EXCELLENT and the mango margarita I had with it was delicious! It was around then that we decided to go, but before we left completely we went into a casino to play a little. It was my first time there, and I won $.30, but my mom won $11.00. After that, we made the three hour trip back to my Aunt’s, and reveled in a great day.

Take note, y’all: NOLA is worth doing at least once in your life. It’s super fun, full of culture, and you can drink in public in the French Quarter (I know, I couldn’t believe it either and I saw it with my own eyes!).
