Someday, I'll stop writing silly comedy stories. However, today isn't "someday".

Director's cut: "When Dating a Sunset..." chapters 14 & 15 · 1:53am Dec 11th, 2019

This will be a long one.

First, chapter 14 didn't go through many changes during editing. The one noteworthy edit was that I had Sunset and Rarity show that they didn't forget that Diane Heart said Eric looked weird to her in the story's prequel "When Dating Advice Doesn't Work...". Sunset quietly warning Diane that she better not see her calling Eric weird wasn't there before editing. Rarity originally had no problems helping Diane at first, but I edited to so she was much more hesitant to do it; Rarity did not like it when she heard about it in the prequel.

Now, in the director's cut for chapters 12 and 13, I said that I originally planned the part of the story with Diane to be QUITE different, and here it is. When Eric took Sunset to Diane to clear things up, Diane was going to lie and say that she didn't know what Eric was talking about, making Sunset think he was lying and run off. Eric would have then asked Diane what was going on, and she would say that she lied because he didn't need Sunset, and Diane was doing this as a desperate attempt to get Eric to go out with her.

Eric would have still refused to go out with her, making Diane mad, and she would get butthurt and actively insult Eric by calling him weird. Eric would have been hurt at first, before going off on Diane (not physically) and say that he didn't care what she thought. Diane wouldn't be impressed and insult him again, before Sunset -- who overheard everything -- would step in. Sunset would have gotten furious and verbally laid into Diane, warned her to never mess with Eric again or else, and Diane would have fled. All this would have happened in chapter 13, and it actually would have ended the same way as it does now.

This is because Sunset would have thought that she didn't deserve Eric, so this part of the story, where she didn't think it, would have been the same. This means that chapter 14 still would have went the same even if I went with my initial idea with Diane. However, I didn't like the feel of changing Diane Heart's character like this, so even before I got the chapter 12, I scratched this idea. Even if it would have been obviously more dramatic.

As far as chapter 15 goes, the part with the human Pinkie Pie was something I thought about even in chapter 6. I also had a good laugh about Pinkie using her "random omniscience" to both help and troll Eric. This is something that works the best with a human that's a brony, and is one of the reasons why Eric Reed is a brony, not a human that knew nothing about Equestria or the characters prior to being stuck there.

There was a big edit: now it ended. I planned for it this part of the story to be in the final chapter, so chapter 15 was planned to be the final chapter. But later, I decided to have Sunset "meet" Eric's family (something I was thinking about trying to do in a future story anyway) so I edited it to set up a chapter 16 with it.

Lastly, I have a special treat for chapters 17 and 18, but I can't say what it is here. Spoilers and all that. I will say that chapter 16 will say what it is.
