Who you Gonna Call? (Ghostbusters 3 Trailer thoughts) · 5:41pm Dec 9th, 2019
Yes, this is totally a thing now.
....now let's check for cats and dogs living together, cause surely this must be generating mass hysteria.
But seriously, I'm pumped up. Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard, nice to see a good range of actors here. Also, I'm interested in the fact that while they're respecting the past and all, they seem to be going for a new era. Still, cute little nods here and there and I do seem to note that due to Harold Ramis' passing, Egon's dead as well. Or at least implied to be.
Now, I do note this trailer seems to be mostly serious and Ghostbusters was a comedy. However, I suspect they're playing their cards close to their chest, note the very few ghosts. This is just to show that this is a thing now, really. After all, trailers don't always indicate the tone of the movie itself. Early KoTM trailers were very grim if not wonderous, and yet the final film had a few snappy one-liners. In any event though, I am curious to see where this will lead, really.
This is going to be a fun film.
Agreed. While I have doubts about the movie's overall quality, I'll still go see it in the theaters because of Paul Rudd. He is one of the most charming actors working today and I genuinely believe that he's going to be a blast to watch in this movie, as well.
Besides, the movie is directed by Jason Reitman, the son of the man who directed the first two Ghostbusters films. So, I imagine he'll try as hard as he can in order to respect his father's legacy. That should make the movie loads better than the atrocity known as the last Ghostbusters film.
Ecto 1 LIVES!
BTW they fully restored the show car, down to the last bolt and nut. From what I have been reading they even found the original production car (used for shooting, has camera mounts all over it) and the external shot car (the one you see in the field) and restored them.
Honestly, the car really was the star of the show, it is, arguably, one of the most iconic movie cars ever made. EVERYONE knows that iconic siren, and the flashing blue lights, means the ghostbusters are coming.

What I suspect we're seeing here, it's an update of the Junior Ghostbusters idea from Real, really. Possibly a homage to Extreme as well, with a new generation of Busters. Personally, on the serious tone... I can't actually say I mind a possible more serious take on the films, if only to avoid yet another bad comedy. God knows we've got too many of those already.

They did, actually.
Ramis may not have lived to have seen this trailer, but he lived long enough to see this thing returned from the grave.
Hmm....Ghosbusters Afterlife. Clever wordplay, since the whole catalyst for this is the main character's grandfather dying, in addition to simply the world's meaning.

There are actually 3 Ecto 1's.
The one in the video you posted. That is the "show" car, it has a full interior, and so on.
#2 is the "camera rig" and you see it in the scene of the trailer when they show the "gunner seat" that is actually a camera crew seat. Back before remote camera rigs existed.
#3 is a half car, used to show "in car driving" scenes and such.

Well, the movie is classified as a fantasy comedy. So, maybe, they're trying not to spoil all of its jokes in the first trailer. Who knows? Maybe, we'll actually get to hear a few jokes in the next trailer.
This actually looks really good.

Thank you for showing me that vid. I really enjoyed it
The moment I heard the Ecto-1's siren...Ah the nostalgia. If there's ever an excuse to marathon the old movies, this is one of them!

As soon as I heard that 'Bhree! Brhee!" I cracked a smile.
