Okay, so I just got an official invite to my "baby" cousins' baby shower (she's like 8 days younger than me and we're both about to be 22 next month). It's the day before my birthday and idk if I'll be able to make it (leaning towards maybe for an hour). That's besides the point. This is just one of the many other baby shower invites I've received recently (thankfully it's the earliest because three of my friends are having baby showers within the next 2-5 months). I don't get it? Why are all my friends either getting married or having babies so soon? We're all in our early 20s (except for my friend Jordan. His fiance and him are both 25 now and are on kid #2 now!) and have so much more time to live before settling! Honestly! And if it's not a baby announcement, then I keep seeing advertisements for baby stuff. Stuff I'd grab for my 3-year-old nephew and 2-year-old niece and nephew (both are two) is just seemingly popping up everywhere I look! Not only that but the pull to have that happen to me is strong, despite my conscious decision to NEVER have kids of my own! I just don't know and don't like it one bit! Yet I can't change fate....no matter what I tried in the past. It's got me having "baby brain"! Why!?! Curse me being a fertile female!!! I don't know how I can stay focused on my other obligations while like this!
