The Grudge (2020) Trailer · 1:32am Nov 18th, 2019

I wasn't aware this trailer had been released until a few days ago. If the leaks I've read about this film are true though, it's going to be a carbon copy of a film I've never seen and have one of the most amazingly stupid endings this side of The Devil Inside.

I'm sold!

I'm pretty sure I've seen the original Japanese version. Saw the Sarah Michelle Gellar remake directly after watching a Jeff Dunham special.

Best mistake ever! :rainbowlaugh:

I love the original Ju-On. It's fantastic. Ju-On 2 is also good. The Grudge remake was also pretty decent imho. The Grudge 2 was... alright.

The Grudge 3 was a mistake and this one seems like it's going down that path. The leaks, again, indicate it'll try something that shouldn't be done for a film like this (one that's rooted in folk lore).

I recommend Sadako vs Kayako btw. It's quite fun.

Ju-On is a classic of the haunting genre just like The Ring, but reboots don’t have the greatest of reputations. Still I’m excited for this.

I'll concede that there are aspects I do genuinely like. The premise is a lot better than I anticipated (a mystery style is way better than "pretty young faces in danger). The visual look is also really nice.

What concerns me is what I've read about it. I'm not sold on its possible ending whatsoever. It's a really, really bad idea if it's legit.
