A Conclusion And... · 3:14am Nov 8th, 2019
May of 2014. That's when I made my first (and only until now) Blog post.
The Epilogue; Love, marks the Conclusion of Mending Light, and its companion story From Dusk to Night, by KuroiTsubasaTenshi. Night Flurry and Dusky Down have been through a lot, and posting the Epilogue today has struck nostalgic cords for a lot of reasons.
We started developing Night and Dusky's story together as far back as 2012, telling stories back and forth about these two and watching their paths intertwine, and grow closer and closer. When Kuroi wrote The Necromancer's Ambition, there was no intention to create a greater 'Duskyverse', but I knew I wanted to write Night's story. It was important to me to show him as he was, and how he grew, and I hope I did a good job of that with this story. His was a journey of 500 miles and 500 more, to find himself, his confidence, and even the love he long wished for, all so much better in his reality than his naive dreams. Thank you all for coming along this journey.
So... what next?
What started in The Necromancer's Ambition concluded in From Dusk to Night, the story of Ivory Hope, as told by Dusky Down. In a way, the story of Night Flurry serves to show how Dusky found allies she trusted and believed in enough to help her old friend whom she could not help alone. So then why write Mending Light? Well, because Mending Light is the core of another story, as told by Night Flurry. The story that sets up another, final piece which is to come.
I will be taking a short break to gather my thoughts, then this final story will begin shortly. It will be a smaller story, on the scale of The Necromancer's Ambition as opposed to the sprawling epic which Mending Light evolved into, but that doesn't make it any less important to Night and Dusky's story. I will see you all soon, and thank you again.
