Interesting... I wonder how.
Really? Because it's not like we've gotten any data on late fall/winter events...
Oh. Right. Dash explicitly referred to Spring Breakdown.

Yeeeep.

And how does that fuck up your timeline? You could just adapt around it, right?

Because according to my timeline, Spring Breakdown happens during the girls senior year. If they're still in school the winter AFTER it...
EDIT: There is one way it could work, but it requires a massive shuffle of the timeline. I'll mull it over.

It looks like Archie comics series - it is published for more than 30 years now, but heroes there are still teenagers in the high school. How is that trope called - frozen time?

I'd have been fine with that. But if you look at my other timeline blog posts, you'll find that this fandom thinks continuity = time moving forward.
I blame Equestrian magic.
Sunset: "...Hey girls, I just noticed we've been seniors for like, 3 years."
Pinkie: "Oh yeah, I've been wondering why I haven't held a graduation party for anyone in a while."

The writers said they were not senior as of season 1 of the digital series. They'd have to be in their second year of high school for this new timeline to work.
Considering the freshman were young teenagers at most while the mane cast are near-young adults, maybe freshmen refers to their first year in school as opposed to a grade. They seem too young to be 9th graders.
Maybe this is why they ended the series here because it just reached the point the timeline became irreconcilable.

The effort you've put into making some fundamentally goofy make sense is really impressive, and I'm not sarcastic at all when I say I appreciate it. I love the explanations people come up with. Just don't strain your brain on it too much.
