Turns out there is quite a bit of fanart done of Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen and its related works. In anticipation of the newest entry in the series, and it's shiny new coverart, here's an updated compilation for all the art done of the series.
Let's start off with CommanderMing who commissioned this as a gift for me (Seriously, thanks). It was done by SkyeyPony. It depicts a scene from the first story showing Luna beside Alternia's sickbed.

We come to the reason why most of you started reading this series in the first place, the original Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen cover art by the talented Angelea-Phoenix, who originally submitted this piece for a contest entry for the Shapeless Sun Tumblr by Inkrose. I asked her permission to use it as my cover and well... here we are.
We move from the newest artworks, to the first fanarts I have ever received. These two are both of Alternia and were both long done before I retconned/official decided Alternia's mane was blue-green in color.
These pieces were followed shortly by artwork done on Lamia, who was an extremely popular character in the first book.

But perhaps the two artists that contributed most to the fanart of Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen and its associated works are Plainoasis and Firimil, whom I am writing the one shot for.
Plainoasis works are frankly super pretty. It's like a classical painting, but... works for cartoons. I don't know how he does it... but... just enjoy!
The first of the fanarts he did of the series, it's primarily his depiction of Alternia and her sisters that led me to decide on having their mane colors being different. It just kind of felt right.

Before finally making the new cover for Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen for what I thought was going to be a print version of the book... except that project seems to have fallen by the wayside as I've lost contact with said person. Anyway, Plainoasis made a beautiful cover.

Question, are you going to incorporate the 2.0 changeling form from the show at all?
I really like the way Alternia and all the others are drawn by the artists here.

5148410 Yup. I'm excited too! There are 4 chapters left to write as I'm writing the whole thing first, having some trusted ppl read it, THEN publishing it. Part of the reason why is so that I don't have to stress so much about changing the story according to feedback (if people really don't like something, I have something to change, if they are good with things, I can just go ahead and publish without any other expectations).
5148428 Hm. The design has grown on me, particularly Ocellus's, but changelings 2.0 have a serious change to their physiology (they don't eat love they share love) that will cause a huge shakeup to the PC:TCQ world. Alternia's mandate of rulership is chiefly because she is reliant on love, therefore she is tied to the denizens of Equestria and is motivated to represent them in the new Equestrian Triumvirate. If she is divorced from that with a Changeling 2.0 design and physiology makeover... then it becomes a bit more difficult to justify her rule. Yes, she was regent basically for 1000 years but that was always a temporary arrangement. TLDR I need to think about it and I don't have plans for that.

with regard to the Changedling, idea...i tend to agree it wouldnt work in your universe though not because it would divorce alternia from her conection to equestria (far from it, its never explicitly stated the changedligns cant still grow stronger by being given outside love, it just hast to be given freely now, they cant steal it, and because they are constnatly shareing love as one grows stronger they in turn strengthin the whole thus a changedling alternia, if she maintained her conection to equestria would not only grow stronger herself but in turn would make her hive stronger as she did so
but as your changelings have already demonstrited they are more then capable of loving one another already and do so frequently without any obvious signs of the transformation it quite easily can be said that changlings in your AU just dont work that way
might be something to consider for a one off 'what if' story some time on down the line though.
also anyone else notice that the only bit of fanart that shows alternia with her artifical carapice plate on display is the anthro one
and none of these show her 'hybrid' form as of the end of the second book...not that its too much diffrent from normal but its enough that it deserves its own image..
I am actually kind of jealous. Writing good fics is one thing but having others do audio readings or fanart of your fics sounds incredibly flattering. Wish I had more time to pursue this venture. I have to try more.
