“Alright, now tell me my dear friend, what inspired your username?
Response:
I once had a very intimate relationship with a dominant who instructed me to write exclusively using Garamond. Day in, day out, Garamond would mark all my documents, imprinting the name within my mind. When it was time to create a fimfic, all my fics were written in Garamond and the name Gara struck me as pretty. As such, I became GaraTheAuthor.
Also… it sounds like it could be a gryphon name which makes it very good.
“What drew you into Mlp?
Response:
Honestly, I used to browse those really crappy meme websites and they had a special site dedicated exclusively to MLP memes. But the memes were funny and I thought, fuck it, let’s watch this show. Started watching Season 1, binged that in like three days and then was caught up in time to join up with everyone else for Season 2.
What really solidified it however, was the skype and forum communities in those hellish pre-discord days. Made a lot of really good friends and connections back then and they really helped me learn how to transition from a teenage edgelord into a somewhat functional human being.
Also… the sheer volume of quality porn was really helpful. Not even going to lie.
“Who is your favorite pony and why?
Response:
Soarin, the guy’s a total himbo and that’s a very endearing trait. Just feed him and give him headpats and he’s content in life. It’s a mindset I can really get behind.
“Favorite episode and why?”
Response:
Saddle Row Reviews is really good, kind of has a nice blend between being comedic while also having the girls work off of each other with good chemistry. It’s one of the few episodes that had me burst out laughing at several points.
That being said, I also like the 200th, it had a very similar vibe.
Also any episode with Sunburst, since he’s top tier husbando.
“What inspires you to write?”
Response:
Honestly, at this point it’s kind of inertia. I’m so used to writing that I just keep doing it. After all, my bank of ideas just constantly seems to be growing and I can only put out content so fast. Besides that, motivation from friends and loved ones has been a big help. It’s always helpful hearing them laugh whenever I deliver a joke, or keyboard smash when I write some very spicy RariTwi smut (not calling any author out, you know who you are.)
“Tell us about your favorite story, and why it inspires you to write. It doesn't have to be mlp specifically!”
Response:
The Gunslinger Series by Stephen King. Holy shit that is a mastercraft of storytelling. King’s work has always inspired me to write and for a while I tried to hold myself to his regiment of writing everyday, which was a terrible idea. Not easy to do when you’re working 40-hours a week.
Still, his work pushes me to write, because one day, I want to build my own worlds, fill them with my own characters, and tell my own stories. Fanficition has been a fantastic tool in helping me shape these skills.
“Give us the background of the author! Tell us all about you. Well in a short summary.
Response:
Well I’ve been writing fan fiction since 2015, starting off on Tumblr where I published a lot of really trashy and bad porn. I met my first editor there, Autumn Bramble, and she helped me shape my skills to the point that I felt comfortable posting on Fimfic.
Since then I’ve published almost 50 fics, with the vast majority being either pornographic or comedic. However, on occasion, I have dabbled in dramatic stuff, romance, and even tried an adventure fic once or twice.
When I’m not writing about horses, I’m usually dabbling in the furry fandom or working on queer content (such as a story about a bisexual french duelist). Sometimes I even do nonfiction stuff, with history and human sexuality being two fields I love to examine and write about.
Beyond writing, I am your average girl. I read books, I watch youtube, listen to podcasts, work, play video games, and chill with friends. Most of my media consumption is actually primarily non-fiction in nature, though my BF has started to taint me with the nefarious eastern influence of anime and Ducktales.
Oh…
I also smoke a lot of pot…
And am polyarmous…
And am actively a submissive in a 24/7 D/s relationship...
And like to blow money on Bad Dragon…
You know…
Normal girl stuff.
