The Ponystar Universe. 1: The Twelve Colonies of Pony

It makes more sense to put information about the universe of Ponystar Equestria in the blog rather than load story chapters with information. We join the universe at the end of the Cyponian war, a war that began when the Cyponians rebelled against their pony masters. At this time the ponies we are following (remember the lines at the beginning of the story), the descendants of ponies who fled the planet Olympia when it was overwhelmed by natural catastrophe (or so the stories go). These ponies, of all kinds but led by Alicorns, established twelve colonies on worlds in nearby star systems. These worlds are as follows:

1. Caprica: The lead colony, the wealthiest and most powerful of the worlds, also the most corrupt. The Cyponians were first created on Caprica by an alicorn scientist called Grey Stone. After the Cyponian revolt, Grey Stone was executed as a traitor. Major Moonlight is from Caprica.

2. Taura: A world dominated by earth ponies, though with an alicorn ruling class, Taura is a world where loyalty is everything and blood relations count for more than anything else. Commander Celestus is a native of Taura

4: Gemena: The poorest of the colonies, it was here that the Church of the One was based. This fiercely monotheistic religion was unitarian, insisting that there is only one God, sole and alone. Zoe, the daughter of Grey Stone, was a secret follower of the Church, and this has been passed on to her avatar, who has become the Imperious Leader.

5. Aerila: An agricultural world that produced food for all twelve colonies, the world was considered crude by natives of Caprica. The Ponystar Epona, though the ship used by the President, was the flagship Ponystar of Aerila, so that Cara is Aerilian.

6. Saggitara: Another agricultural world, fiercely traditional and with its own form of the Colonial polytheist religion that is considered primitive by the Alicorns. Saggitara is dominated by unicorns, who view their traditional society as superior to all the other worlds. Count Altair was the representative of Saggitara on the Council of Twelve.

7: Scorpia: Dominated by Pegasi, Scorpia was the home of the fleet yards where Ponystars were built and maintained. The original flagship of the Scorpia Ponystars was the Pegasus. Flutter comes from Scorpia.

8: Cancera: A populous but wealthy planet, favoured home of alicorns and centre of financial expertise.

9.Aquaria: A world with a low population, dominated by ocean, Aquaria was settled by ponies who were more egalitarian than others. Although the Council of Twelve was also known as the Alicorn Council, Always with a small population, Aquaria was known for returning ponies of other kinds as well. Rumours of sea ponies are just that.

10: Leonia: Known for its open plains, Leonia was also dominated by Pegasi. It was known for its vineyards and as a centre for education and industry.

11. Libra: Home of the Colonial Supreme Court, Libra had a larger Alicorn population than any of the other colonies. Although wealthy, most ponies regarded it as a less than desirable place to live because of the large number of lawyers on the planet.

12: Pica: Another mainly aquatic world, Pica was known as the home of a major laboratory and research station. It was also the home of a number of important studios, since rents were cheaper than Caprica.
