Red book of miracles · 1:35pm Oct 19th, 2019

I thought I'd post this song by Rowan Tower. It's in Russian, here is my attempt to translate the lyrics:

When Janet, for the first time, didn't come, didn't return at night from the purple fields,
And Nataliya realized that she wouldn't be able to fly with her over the city anymore,
She wiped her tears, brewed some coffee, fought herself till dawn.
Saint-Petersburg's high sky was ringing like a dome above her head.
When bright twilight of the milky night was slashed by the dawn's band,
That's how the first chapters were written of the Red[* ] book of miracles/wonders[**].

Routine hooks of romantic truths just tug at the fabric and don't hold the line,
So one is forced to talk not to the past, but only to God or to oneself.
And yet, at the very first glance, among what is other people's I can see what is mine,
I recognize on the streets of the city those who write it as well.
We have nothing to boast about on God's parade: neither rich in prayers, nor rich in money,
We are split volumes of the Red book of miracles.

If everything was the way it used to be, the way it seemed in the beginning of days,
Life would still keep us on its warm palm.
But entering the game ever further, getting stuck chest deep in words,
See, God abandons/throws[**] us discreetly, like a card from His sleeve.
And there is neither fair wind behind my back, nor kind angelic wings or faces,
But my comfort and hope is the quiet rustle of its pages.
Unjustified justification: quod scripsi, scripsi.[***]
All I have, and I don't need anything else, is the Red book of miracles.

[* ] Literally “scarlet”, but it's probably a reference to Tolkien's Red Book of Westmarch, which is scarlet in Russian translations.
[**] The Russian word here can mean either.
[***] The original expression here is in Church Slavonic, so I translated it with Latin. It means “What I have written, I have written” (John 19:22).

I like your translation. It feels like what I imagine yugen to be.
