Long overdue update. · 1:34am Oct 19th, 2019
So MLP has reached its finale at last, meaning it’s high time I step up and let everyone who’s still curious to know what’s been going on and what the future will hopefully hold.
As has been indicated by my prolonged silence here, things have been both good and bad over the last few months. As I may have hinted in a few previous posts I do stories outside of MLP, and with my job situation being what it is (yay for contract work 
) I began doing commissions for folk to supplement my income, as well as giving patreon a try. Both have gotten surprisingly good responses and the added money definitely helped me out during the lull over the summer when I was both job hunting again and having to deal with some unexpected legal issues (nothing too terrible, just a mistake I made on a few documents which turned into a bit of a costly battle).
The bad part of the above, if you see it as such, is I pretty much put my contributions here aside so I could focus exclusively on getting my customers what they’d paid for, and my patreon backers the content they were kind enough to fund. While my talent is apparently in higher demand than I would’ve expected, my time management skills to make sure everything is getting equal treatment is clearly in need of improvement. I’ve been getting better about it as things finally settle down into a normal routine again but I’ve still got a ways to go before I can finally declare myself a true professional author.
A further complication, which I finally have to admit, is frankly I’m stuck on how to proceed with ‘Scaleless’. I did a few drafts of the next chapters, tried plotting how to wrap up the events in Lordran, and it’s just not gelling together for me as the previous chapters were. It’s been frustrating as heck because I can clearly see what I want to have happen afterward, but the means of getting to that point refuses to reveal itself.
This does NOT denote I’m giving up, merely that I need to ask for some help. If anyone who’s been reading my series is willing to set time aside to chat with me and help me push through the damn mental boulder blocking my progress it’d be much appreciated. I can’t guarantee a new chapter will be ready before next year, but now that I’ve finished up comms I can hopefully put some time aside to pick up where I’ve left off here.
