This just makes this whole sudden misinterpretation of Lemon Crumble's gender more absurd. So, we have her looking like a filly by every standard and rule that ever applied to the look of a filly in Equestria AND we have the script describing her as a filly. Makes two canonical confirmations that she is a filly and that Big Jim is wrong with what he says about her gender.
Yet there are still some users on Derpibooru who claim that the script is meaningless and stomp all over the writer and who claim that animation and later production override the script. Too bad that the script and the finished animation agree on Lemon Crumble being a filly then.....
Calling her a colt holds absolutely no ground by any conceivable standard. I'm still waiting for a 24 hour ban to expire on Derpibooru, which I got for tag vandalizing (!) after I added the tag "filly" to screenshots of Lemon Crumble. But once that has expired, I'm going to take on the discussion there and see what common sense is left. I also pinged Mike Vogel and Nicole Dubuc who wrote "The Ending of the End" together on Twitter and showed them the script, asking them for input on the matter.
If the Derpibooru staff insists on tagging her as a colt with all that overwhelming amount of evidence for the contrary, then the Derpibooru fraction of the fandom is finally completely forsaken and has lost all decency and respect for the canon of the show.

This is pretty much the worst thing that could have happened to the fandom. Less than a week after the finale, we're about to have a full-scale falling out over a background character's gender, all amid increasingly real fears that the fandom isn't sustainable in the long run. Well, there goes the fandom, I guess. /sarcasm

It won't be getting torn apart by this. It probably went through worse drama. But if the outcome of that isn't that everyone gets back to their senses and acknowledges the actual canon, then we look at a future in which any filly in the show, not just Lemon Crumble, can and will face being called a colt and treated as a colt if someone wants to imagine that about a filly to fulfill their trap and/or futa fetish fantasies.
Not to mention the myriad of people who will then claim any filly as a colt when they see a tiny detail that they personally interpret as a filly doing something that's masculine in nature.....
I don't want to look at a dark future like this. It would be utter chaos.

And my language. Yeah, I'm aware of that. I've seen that episode in german TV in 2013. But that's just a foreign dub. Voices of ponies/creatures in foreign dubs only have canonical value if the voice sounds the same or at least very close to the original voice. If it doesn't, then the original dub overrides the foreign dub.

I literally have no idea. It's so obvious that she is a filly, despite her voice. 9 years of established filly canon should weigh more than one statement by a show staffer, even if it's Big Jim, to everyone. Yeah, it would appear that things have changed from the original "locked" script.
Hence the term "original" denoting that there may have been changes, resulting in a FINAL form. And we can see what final form has been taken by the explicit statements from the staff, after all has been done.

You see, Big Jim has EXPLICITLY addressed the fact that this foal has eyelashes.
So there is no more question of "animation error" or "miscommunication". If there ever was, then the matter has now been resolved. That is their prerogative. Their show.
This is NOW a colt, which is "super cute" and has the eyelashes of a filly.
Maybe this was supposed to be a filly, but we now have a colt.

I don't care if Lemon Crumble gets painted as a tomboy. I would gladly read a thousand of such fics in exchange for THIS. This isn't about Lemon Crumble being a tomboy or not, this is about that Big Jim claims that she is a colt, when literally everything in Equestria is completely contradicting that, and that there is a fraction who takes this serious now and disregards an entire 9 season's worth of canon, all because they can't spot a yakshit tweet when they see one and because they are too gullible to realize that they are being messed with.
That is the real problem here. This isn't about people treating Lemon Crumble as a tomboy, this is about people treating her as a colt when she is actually a filly.
