The end is not the end · 3:13am Oct 15th, 2019
Well. The main MLP cartoon has ended for this generation. There's still at least one EQG special scheduled for November, and the comics will be continuing into Season 10 next year, so there's still official material coming (and that's not even counting G5). But for the main series, it's the end of the road.
At the same time, it's nowhere near finished for a lot of us.
I'll admit: I haven't been able to watch the series on TV since last fall (insert grumbles here about cable companies demanding more money for access to certain channels), but I've been following things online as best as I can (and I don't mind admitting that, like a lot of other people, I teared up a bit during that last song). And I can promise a few things.
First and foremost, Evilhumour and I are going to keep working on all the stories in his "The Powers That Be" multiverse (speaking of which, both The Pieces Lie Where They Fell and its sequel Picking Up the Pieces are now available on Archive Of Our Own, with both he and I as co-creators). We still have at least one story per universe to finish (and more than one in some cases), and then some.
Second, I'm also going to keep up with my own Differentverse series. Thanks to certain character revelations in the episode "The Last Crusade", I've been able to figure out some additional details for the second story (for those who may be wondering: yes, Scootaloo's mom in this universe is still the same character I've planned on since the beginning), and hopefully I can figure out how to continue the scene I've been stuck on for over a year or so, and then further stories that will continue onward, gradually adapting the full main series. (Or at least certain parts of it.)
Besides these two, I have many, many more fics (including a self-insert fic with shades of Displaced elements, but explicitly not a part of that particular multiverse) that I've started planning but have yet to complete behind the scenes work on. I have no intention of giving up on any of these works, even if the words have a hard time coming out at times.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls will live on in our hearts for years to come yet, and I fully intend to stick around for the long haul.
Until next time...

P.S.: I really wish we'd gotten confirmation that Derpy and Dinky were related before the show ended... ah well, that's what headcanons are for.
VERY good job with these point outs. Yeah, you make a lot of excellent points and I appreciate you keeping us posted on your updates.
