Case Eleven: From the Top! · 8:00pm Oct 14th, 2019

Hi all. I might have some disappointing news.

I started Ponyville Noire out of the original Phillip Finder series because I felt it was the right thing for me. The thing that would make me happiest. I've always believed in writing for yourself, in doing what makes you happy.

Which is why I did this.

The original Case Eleven was far from my best work, and I learned a hard lesson in planning things out and keeping your stories simple here. While thinking on how to improve it, on simplifying the story and focusing more on the mystery elements, I came up with an alternate outline, a story I like better. And since I have, it's been scratching and itching inside my head, demanding to be let out. And I have decided to obey.

I've deleted Case Eleven and after a brief hiatus so I can more properly plan things out and write more chapters ahead of time, I'm going to start it over again from the beginning with a new, improved, simpler plot (no, not that kind of plot. Get your mind out of the gutter).

But I know that some of you liked the original version, and I don't want all of that work to go to complete waste, especially after I already wrote the ending to it. That's why I've put it in an unpublished story that you can access here. The password is "pirate," and I'll also put the link in the new story.

I hope that you can understand: this is what I felt was the best thing for me. And I promise, I'm not going to bog down this story in endless edits. This is just something I felt I needed to do to fix a mistake that I honestly shouldn't have let fester as long as I did.

Please don't hate me for this.

Josiah

But, what about that handsome devil of a Royal Guard Captain we just met? What happens to him? Will he return? The readers wish to know!

You know I just couldn't resist, Josi. Best of luck, and you know I'll be there to help any way I can.

I'll definitely try to at least give him a cameo.

I agree that when you write fanfiction, you write it as much for yourself as you do for others and I'd this is what you feel is best both for you and for the story, you have my support on it.

Best of luck on the rewrite!

Still gonna read the ending of the original though :ajsmug:

Thank you, I appreciate that a lot.

A story doesn't have to be simple, just well planned out

Thanks for posting this up. Even with your decision to drop this arc, it was nice to read how it was supposed to end. Now to see how much of this survived your rewrite.

Well that explains that confusion. :pinkiecrazy: Thanks for the explaination.
