The End of G4. The Start of G5. · 4:23am Oct 12th, 2019

Why does it feel like it was only yesterday, when it was actually 7 or 8 years ago, when I first joined the herd?

I remember the year was 2012, when I first heard about MLP:FiM. I didn't pay much attention to it then, and like most of us, I was skeptic at first with the whole brony fandom. Of course, back then, the idea of grown men watching and loving a show that was meant for little girls and kids sounded rather absurd. That is until I was later talked into it, and watched the first two episodes that started it – Friendship is Magic Part 1 and 2 – and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But what really broke the camel's back for me were the fan arts, animations, fanfics, and memes. Those are what really got my attention.

I remember first reading the legendary fanfic My Little Dashie before some times later, seeing the movie adaption of it, courtesy of StormXF3. And I got it really bad when I started following the animation crossover of Ace Attorney, Turnabout Storm. And let's not forgot one of the most crowning achievement ever made in the entire fandom was this lovely animation from the DuoCartoonist – Children of the Night (based on Disney's Hocus Pocus).

All these beautiful work of arts, the movies, songs, fanfics, even the games that brought us Them's Fightin' Herds, all made possible because of one show that was started by a visionary of an artist named Lauren Faust.

And now, starting tomorrow, the show will close its final chapter. And that's okay. Because I've had an epic run with this generation of MLP, learning some thing new everyday, and I'm happy to have met some amazing people along the way. So thank you all for bringing colors to my bleak and dreary life with your works of arts, and I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

When one story ends. Another begins.

Not to jinx it, but hopefully the next generation isn't another major disappointment, like Cartoon Network's Teen Titans Go!, Powerpuff Girls 2016, and more a big step up like Ducktale's 2017.

I remember watching Luna Eclipsed as one of the first few episodes I've seen of the series. While I enjoyed it, I wasn't on board the brony train just by watching them. I did look at some fan art for a while until I found the artist kianamai. Her next generation characters (as in the children of the mane six) really caught my attention, but that was mainly it. It wasn't until I stumbled upon this Image and followed the link in the description that I found fimfiction, which soon resulted in me becoming the fan I am now because of all the stories I've read on the site.

Such great memories

If you want to know, I am currently making an MLP/Pokemon fanfic.

After watching the first two episodes of 'TTG', I never watched the show after that. I only went to the movie because they said if you stick around there's an after credits scene that would make all the torture worth it (Now I'm just waiting for the REAL 'Teen Titans' to come back). While I was never a 'Powerpuff Girls' fan, I felt the original was better than the new one that came out. The only reason I'd like to watch the new series is only because of that new Powerpuff Chick, she's pretty cool.

As for 'Ducktales', I've watched all two seasons of that show and now I'm just waiting for that third one to come out. While I grew up watching the original series, honestly I liked the new series better. How each nephew has their own personality, Webby is actually loveable, Beakley is more of a badass, and it gives Donald Duck more screen time. Plus, we get to meet Della Duck which is rare for any Ducktales program outside the comics.

It's going to be sad when G4 comes out and sadder still if the new generation doesn't live to the hype (If any at all). Then again, there's been this rumor about a movie representing a prequel for GEN 5 set to release in two years. They say it wants to focus on Action-Adventure like 'Gravity Falls' and 'Star vs. The Forces of Evil' but what I truly hope for is that it puts as much focus on the relationship deal even if it's not entirely on friendship. I'm not asking for 'Steven Universe' levels of relationships, but what made Gen 4 strong is the bond between not just the mane lassies but the background group as well. Who knows? Maybe the movie will prove that Gen 5 is worth something after all.

I remember seeing the the episode pinkie sence for a bit back when the show was starting the I get up early in the morning to watch more. At first I was worried I was the only one who liked it then I heard of the brony.

My first fic I read was actually a audio read called "darkness of the heart" were spike grows up outside of equestria and gets into some trouble with some griffons so he is forsed back home.

My first time seeing a big project would be the Phenix wright story and I'm exited they are coming up with a new one.

I meet some good friends and I hop it continues even if the g4 will be over.

It's indeed always a good time to watch MLP FIM

You said it. Now if only some other reboots of old classics could just be like that. I know it's too much to hope for, but someday, when they ever do come around to making a Sonic Underground reboot/revival, I can think of several flaws they should resolve with to make the new series stronger than the original.

  1. Include Tails. Sonic without his fox brother, Tails, is like Batman without Robin, Mario without Luigi, or Shrek without Donkey.
  2. Do something about the background settings and the character designs. I don't have a problem with Sonic's, or his siblings. But seriously, the designs for the characters and creatures looked like pale imitations of Don Bluth's or Disney's characters, made by cheap artists. Like what is this supposed to be? An iguana? What is it with SEGA hiring cheap animators when making a movie or TV show of Sonic? All I'm saying the least the artists can do is make the show look like it's actual worth a Sonic material, like Archie Comics and the new IDW comics.
  3. Also, for the voice actors, I'm fine with Roger Craig Smith as Sonic. But for the other two hedgehogs, like Sonia and Manic, I highly recommend Tara Strong and Greg Cipes in that order.

Sorry if I was ranting back there. I just thought it was worth it.

But yes, I can agree that maybe the movie will show us how much G5 was worth it. And a generation of MLP that's focused on action-adventure like Gravity Fall you say? That's like saying Them's Fightin' Herds is secretly MLP G4.5. Just with fighting ungulates and a unicorn instead of just talking ponies.

That's an interesting note. It's funny you mention 'Them's Fightin' Herds' I figured if any form of media should get a television adaptation (Or internet, fi they use Netflix or some other site) that game would be due for a television release. We have one familiar name with Tara being a country-bumpkin but most of the other actresses portraying the other fights I know nothing about. I know there was also supposed to be some 'Goat', but we know absolutely nothing. Would they stick with the concept that only 'one' of them could be the champion who saves the day? Now that part bugs me and it's not just the fact I myself hate 'choosing' between anything.
