As of this morning, not only is A Princess's Trials finished, but The Princess's Side Stories is live!
This will be a repository for canon entries into The Princess's Captain that don't quite fit the main story. In the case of the first entry, Down to Brass Tacks sits in a weird spot as the penultimate chapter of A Princess's Trials and I felt it was kind of stretching the story out unnecessarily. (Also, it's not that good. -.-) Rather than break the flow, you can decide whether or not you want to read it after you finish chapter 8, and if you don't? The epilogue will fill you in on what important bits you missed.
As for future entries in this collection, I'm planning on them to be mostly focused on characters other than Twilight and Tempest. There's going to be a lot of shipping in this story, and maybe you won't care about what Applejack or Fluttershy is getting up to at any given point.
And if you do? Set it to tracking. I don't guarantee every entry in the main story will perfectly bring you up to speed on what's going on in the background, after all, so if you're ever confused, you'll know where to look. (This will also not be the final installment of side-story collections...)
