Story recommendation: Diaries of an Equestrian Overlord · 2:45pm Sep 14th, 2019
I don't usually do story recommendation blogs. I mean, I'm sure I have once or twice, but I don't make a habit of it (mostly because I can barely get my followers to read my own stories, let alone someone else's). But KitsuneRisu is a friend, and Diaries of an Equestrian Overlord, currently gracing the feature box, is one of my favourites of his.
Look at that fucking smile.
It's an old story from the early days of the fandom (his first story, in fact), and still one of my all-time favourite comedies. He's only just ported it over FimFiction after years of my constant begging, which was no small task on his part, since parts of the story are reliant on unusual formatting that wasn't possible on FimFiction when the site first started, and until now he only had it in PDF format hosted on Equestria Daily.
Now that it's made it over, I highly recommend you all take a look. It may not be for everyone, since as mentioned, it's an older that story that has since been heavily invalidated by canon, but I still think it's great. Great comedy, great world-building, and great subversive characterisation of Celestia, which canon Celestia more closely resembles each and every season IMO. I don't want to say too much more about it beyond that, but seriously, go check it out. I promise it's worth your time.
