Story Notes: Technically, not terrible. · 3:50am Aug 22nd, 2019

Once again, the Great and Powerful Jaxie held a flash writing contest, in which the prompt was Technically, not terrible.

He also, in the Discord chat, goaded me into writing something that was eight* chapters long, which is why this thing is what it is.

There isn’t a lot to put here notes-wise. Two hours, like Iron Author, there’s a bit of time to research. One hour, there’s not much at all, especially when you’re writing eight* separate chapters, all centered around a theme.

There are a few things that ought to be mentioned though.

First off, Proper Prim isn’t my OC; she’s Trombrony98’s. Conceived for the OC Slamjam, she gets another appearance in Jaxie’s contest.

Second up is the 5k Nap, which was inspired by nemryn’s entry into my FimFic Authors are in your Bed.

Thirdly, Novelember II is a sequel to THIS. There should be enough in the story for you to guess what it’s about without reading the first, but in case there isn’t, it’s Applejack writing a self-insert fanfic where she takes the role of John McClane in Die Hard.

Fourthly, ROBCakeran53 (who wrote Past Sins*) also entered the contest and wrote a story called Peaches aren’t that Terrible which is an amazing bit of s:yay:tposting, and also kinda targeted at me, which I admire. If he doesn’t post it on FimFic, shun him.

I think you mean "alternative facts."

I do!

The best part is that thus far, Jaxie hasn’t noticed that I skipped a chapter to get eight.

I’ve learned from math, counting 1, 2, 3, dot dot dot, n, n+1, etc., is a perfectly valid counting strategy.

Step 1: .99999 is close enough to 1 that we can consider it 1.
Step 2: .99998 is close enough to .99999 that we can consider it .99999. See step 1.
Step 3: ????
Step 4: 0 = 1

:pinkiegasp: Sempai noticed me! :rainbowkiss:

... :facehoof: Darn it, I completely forgot the contest was last night.

Haha! Charlie the Unicorn! :rainbowlaugh:

Honestly, the peach thing was totally on accident. As I was nearing the end of writing it, I realized with abstract horror what I was doing, and then decided to leave it in your honor.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

It made it that much more awesome.
