So. Been a while. Lots of reasoning for it: Work, writers block, and outside factors keeping me from keeping up with the show (I have only just now managed to watch Season 7 - sooo no spoilers please). You know, the usual.
Part of what cause the Brief History series go dormant was the fact that I wanted to keep it as canon-compliant as possible. Trouble is, as the seasons progressed, the writers really worked their Worldbuilding Muscles something fierce. And believe me - that is AWESOME to see, and I love it.
Buuuuut... Well, it means that everything I had developed doesn't actually work as nicely as it used to when the girls and spike were constrained to Ponyville, Canterlot, and the local area.
So, in the event that I can put out more chapters, don't be surprised or dismayed if you see an "Alt. History" tag magically added, because the differences from the actual canon and what I put together are stark enough that that's what I wound up making.
Hope to give the readers something to enjoy. Eventually. In the meantime, have a good day!
While I respect your desire to hew close to canon, you should never feel obligated to do so. Looking forward to seeing where you deviate from the show.
