I like writing about the worst day of a character's life; it lets us see the mettle inside. (Pronouns: RB/20 )

    Some books I love

I haven't produced much content lately. Just not feeling "pony." Been working on some space opera I might post to Royal Road or Amazon or something someday.

In light of my recent lack of content, have some of my favorite books:

Me: What did you learn in school today?

Kid: We learned about "SPQR" in ancient Rome.

    Always worth a re-read

I just re-read, for the sixth or eighth time, one of my all time favorite books:
Neptune's Inferno: The U.S. Navy at Guadalcanal, James D. Hornfischer

Deleted scene: "The Ponies in the Caves." · 9:29am Aug 12th, 2019

Deleted gag from Chapter 2 below the cut:

Starlight was still looking up. "You're standing on the ceiling. How do you stand on the ceiling?"

The batpony flared her wings and dropped, landing back in her chair.

"Batpony," Twilight explained. "That's an aspect of her racial magic."

"How does that work?" Starlight asked.

Dusky wrinkled her nose. "A pegasus stands on clouds, and they have to learn a trick to pass through a cloud, usually as a toddler or preschooler, they learn it. They have to make a conscious decision to pass through a cloud. We, well, we stick to ceilings."

"Then," Starlight asked, "You have to learn how to let go?"

Dusky frowned. "Yeah.... Takes about four, six years. Batpony parents often stick their foals to the ceiling when they need them out of the way...... the foals don't appreciate that."

Rarity nuzzled Dusky behind the ear. "Tell us the story, for your own good."

(That really broke the serious tone of the scene, but I liked it too much to throw away....)

That is so good in overall context but I understand why you cut it.

Someone artistic needs to illustrate this, immediately.
