BronyCon Round-Up (And Stories) · 2:01am Aug 10th, 2019
Since Ponibius, Chengar Qordath and a slew of others have been assembling their thoughts (see below) I thought it was only fair that I do the same.

I went on a sprawl about this on Twitter, but I'll try to sum up: I ain't going anywhere. The small, brightly colored ponies have been a major influence on me since early 2011, even before I went to the inaugural meetup in May 2011 of what eventually launched BroNYCon that June. The show and its fans helped bring me out of a very dark place after my little brother died in October 2010 and also helped me make the best friends I have ever had. So I'm not about to stop watching, writing or thinking about the ponies just because the show is ending or because BronyCon has closed its doors; much less fall out of touch with the friends I made through this show (Comma-Kazie, Chengar Qordath, Ponibius) or older friends who also got into MLP (Meadowshrine). As such, I'm not gonna get all mopey and sad here. This is a time to celebrate all the fun I've had at BronyCon, both this year, and in years past.
Major highlights of BronyCon 2019 include hanging with my writing buds, the aforementioned Comma, Chengar and Ponibius as well as longtime artist buddy Meadowshrine, his fiance and our mutual friend AubriTheGriffon. Comma sat me down and we plowed through the Warhammer 40K parody series "If the Emperor Had a Text-to-Speech Device" and I loved it. We played an awesome card game (see Chen's post for details) and had a viewer's choice marathon of the best of MLP, as picked by us. We secured a ton of autographs for fantastic artist InuHoshi-to-Darkpen, which we've been doing at MLP conventions for the last couple of years. We went to a couple of panels, spent way too much money in the vendor hall (at least, I did) and ate out and had a ton of fun. We batted around a few new story ideas and goofy concepts, some of which you might keep your eyes open for from Chengar and Poni. Even my own lethargic writing juices have been reinvigorated!
Me and Meadowshrine also went to a pizza dinner with IDW comic artists Tony Fleecs, Andy Price, Sara Richards and Trish Forstner. We got to hang with some seriously cool people, including fellow guests Illustrious Q of Equestria Daily (who I was delighted to find actually knew about "Rainbooms and Royalty"!) and reviewer Silver Quill (who I sprung a very cool surprise on at one panel: https://youtu.be/HuOS2Z25D-s?list=LLUn8WcwKVPuKbr_Kg4LptaA&t=3445)
As for my own writing plans: my major goal has been, in collaboration with my awesome friends and editors, to try to get the rest of the new Rainbooms and Royalty completed and up before the year ends before diving back into new adventures in Dashverse and MLP as a whole. I hope to supplement this with some shorter stories designed to flesh out the Dashverse and am thinking about stories in the main MLP continuity.
Rainbow Dash continues to be the character I have the easiest time writing for, since I think I have a decent handle on her character. Plus she's the best character, so that helps too. But I don't want to limit myself and lately I've found myself interested in doing something with Smolder and Ocellus, my favorites of the Student Six (even if I'm still not crazy about the School of Friendship as a concept or setting). So that's something for me to ponder over a bit.
I hope to still hear from those of you who continue to read my works and a special thanks to those of you who leave thoughtful comments and feedback.
All the best!
You're one of the few on the site who has a legit chance at causing my opinion about a character to turn about, even if it is due to non-canon content. I quite look forward to having my feelings about them challenged.
Glad to see yuo'll be sticking around a little while longer.
