So, The Endless Cycle, that story garnered way more attention than I thought it ever would. Not because it was bad or anything, but because I’m a writer who usually achieves low view counts, except on Hurt, but that story sucks.
It very quickly went from an idea I thought about as I was touring a college campus to one of the most popular stories on FiMFiction.
I don’t know if anyone is interested in the journey, but here we go!
It was Friday. As I stated in my author’s note, I walked past a cafè on the tour and thought, you could order a coffee and a bagel there and my mind went crazy.
Pitched the story idea to some people on the Wings of Fire Wikia, I got quite an impressive response. I wondered truly how interesting a story about a coffee and a bagel could be, so I ventured to upload it on Saturday.
At 8:00 AM, I uploaded The Endless Cycle.
By the time 12 PM rolled around, I was pretty shocked. The story had already become my fastest growing story on my FiMFiction, and it was fast approaching my top number of likes.
Around 3:00 PM is when things started getting out of hand, I saw that The Endless Cycle has become my most liked stories on FiMFiction, and was more than a little shocked.
Then, the popularity spike happened. I was examining some stories on FiMFiction, because I was bored, and just found The Endless Cycle sitting at the 13th most popular.
Of course, all this cumulated into becoming the 11th most popular story on FiMFiction, and if Dan Vs. The Magic of Friendship hadn’t updated right then, I probably would’ve made front page. Of course, that’s not the best part. The best part is when one of my favorite authors, FDR, commented on it saying it was a great story.
Of course, it’s stuck in endless popularity limbo right now, but I’m still unsure what alternate universe I’ve warped to right now to have my story get so much attention.
Thank you for making my story one of the most popular on FiMFiction, and let me tell you something, my bar is pretty high after The Endless Cycle, so lower your standards immensely, there’s one planned story that might surpass the bar, but we have to deal with Equestrian Idiot right now.
