Because I'm entitled to tell everyone my opinion · 7:14pm Nov 11th, 2012

So, dat season premiere.
I really enjoyed it, I mostly had the same qualms and praises as others, except that I feel more optimistic about it than a lot of people I know. So let's talk about that. Oh yeah, spoilers below.

If I was kind of iffy about naming Twilight as best pony before the premiere, I have no such qualms any more. Not only did we have every variation of Twilight's awesomeness (crazy Twilight, super-powerful Twilight, adorkable Twilight, etc), but she showed a kind of maturity that really feels like she's developing as a character. On the surface, I suppose the way she behaved was mostly normal, but there was this subtle air of growing up in how she handled herself; how she was eager to help not because she needed to, but because she wanted to.

As expected, the few things Shining Armor said and did were awesome enough for me to blow them wildly out of proportion and trounce around parading his greatness even more.

And then there's, King Sombra. King fucking Sombra. Why did things have to work out like this between us? I was VERY excited for him before the premiere released- his character design was really cool, and while I agreed that he had the air of a bad OC visually, a "bad" OC written well is obviously not a bad OC at all, and damn do they write their villains well. You know, except in this single instance. When I saw a few Sombra fics released before the season premiere (even those that were parodies), I found myself saying, "Just wait a bit! We don't even know what he's like!" Now, with the influx of post-episode villain fics I feel llike saying... well "We don't even know what he's like...still."

Which also brings me to my next point. I was planning on writing a fic about the early life of Sombra (or Somber Skies as a child) up to his rise to power, and was trying to beat the crowd with my first chapter. Obviously I failed at that, so I'm wondering, should I even bother? My goal is to create something compelling and canon-friendly with the little information we were given, which can count for a lot when you stretch it out. Then again, I really am behind on pretty much everything I'm writing, so starting something new might not be the best idea.

But I mean look at this guy.

OH! Also, for anyone who actually has enjoyed The Elements of Unity, I'm turning it into a game. It's just a simple RPG, but it's good practice for me, and you guys like games, right?

I myself haven't seen the premiere (I am Hub-less, but its alright...I care not for the spoilers :derpytongue2:)

As for the elements of Unity. Now that is going to be an epic undertaking. I am looking at some spoiler less screenshots of the episode and I can't wait to see what will become of it :yay:

Yeah ... Sombra fell pretty short of hopes, but then again, I'm just waitin on my number one pony, Trixie, to make her comeback.

P.S. Twilight in library = best scene in premiere
