Sunset's Backstage Pass is the last Equestria Girls special · 11:46pm Jul 27th, 2019

I'll post my rating on it when I have some time, but in the meantime, some sad news:

It seems Nick Confalone tweeted that this was the final Equestria Girls special, which came as a surprise even to everyone on the DHX team, as well as there suddenly being no Season 2 finale or a Season 3 anymore. ::raritycry::

It's such a kick in the nuts that MLP gets a proper ending while Equestria Girls just unceremoniously gets cut off right out of the blue. And with a lot of unresolved stuff too. Like, what'll happen with the Dazzlings? Do the Humane Seven graduate? What will happen with the rest of the Equestrian magic? Will Sunset's story be completed? Will she return to Equestria and say goodbye to her Canterlot High friends? Will she stay in the human world? Seems like we'll never know now. (It's Star Wars: The Clone Wars all over again... :fluttercry:)

Well here's hoping the crew will find some other format to tell these stories in. Or better yet Hasbro gets off their ass and continues, if this petition gets enough signatures.

28th July edit: Okay, Confalone clarified some things on Twitter. Sunset's Backstage Pass is the last special but we've still got a bunch of shorts being released. And he wasn't told "there will be no more EQG" but their season 2 finale plans were put aside and there's no word on it being renewed for another season. But like the Star Wars movies, it is a possibility that Equestria Girls could come back, especially with a company as giant as Hasbro. So even though the DHX crew aren't working on Equestria Girls, there is technically the possibility of Boulder Media (the company who made Rainbow Roadtrip) taking over.

Well, damn it. I'd kind of had suspicion, but still, seeing it confirmed like that...

This is sad but on the bright side we don't have to deal with butt chin anymore

Don't worry, I've sent an email to Stephen J. Davis at Hasbro. I'm not gonna sit idly by and watch another cartoon get shut down out of nowhere like The Clone Wars or Invader Zim. Equestria Girls deserves a real send-off and I ain't keeping silent until Hasbro decides to give it one.

I’m feeling empty in the inside now. My video shows my depression.

There are still more questions that are still need to be answered!!!!!

I don't suppose they could take all their material and turn it into graphic novels to continue the story kinda like what Avatar did?

I'd be down for that, and it would be a good alternative if they don't want to foot the bill for animating.

Petition signed, shared with all my Brony and Pegasister friends, and link published in my own Blog Post to hopefully get others to see it.

Come on everybody, if we all do our part we can keep this show going :pinkiehappy:
