Experimenting. That's basically the gist of it.
While working on Poppy (yes I am still working on the next delivery, and it's still going to take some time) I decided to try out a few ideas in the mystery genre, including a new series where I combined elements of Poppy's Delivery Service and Morning Meir Mysteries, called the Shai Sideways series. Along with some new ideas for Morning Meir stories, ones that changed the formula into something more akin to a true mystery rather than an adventure/mystery hybrid.
My first try at this, case 5 A Madcap Trap, failed unfortunately. I had written myself into a corner of nonsensical plot holes and meaningless conflict, so I simply scrapped the idea all together and began work on something fresh.
Here is what I am currently working on, and when you can expect to see it:
- New fresh take on the Morning Meir series. Not a reboot, but a new case, written in a more mystery focused style.
- Poppy's Delivery Service Delivery 9. Life hasn't given me too much time to work on Poppy, but I've spent every free second I could spare, working on it.
- New stories in the Shai Sideways Series. For those wanting a funny, zany, supernatural/paranormal element to a mystery, I hope you enjoy this new series. I am intending on writing more, but only AFTER I have Delivery 9 ready to go.
