    Woah!! What exactly IS Humor?!

It's forming a new positive connection in your brain which once had a negitive or neutral reaction that takes you by surprise, not to be confused with making you afraid.

    And boom, gone.

Deleted the heated blog post at the request of a friend, if you have a sour taste in your mouth after that, I don’t, so you shouldn’t either.

    Anyway, so ponies are cute.

I'm sorry. · 9:34pm Jul 13th, 2019

The Changeling Doll is cancelled.

I'm not the same writer I used to be. It would take one or two experienced editors or writers sitting down with me to puzzle out it's original atmosphere and get it moving forward. I would have to reestablish a plot moving forward, which isn't impossible, or hard, but at this point I doubt I'll write an ending that would live up to anyone's expectations. I had two editors that I was incredibly lucky with before this point, who both pointed out when I was being a bit too incoherent or had bad flow due to, honestly, being a very fresh greenhorn. It was something I spent 10 minutes making the first chapter with no editing for fun and I woke up to 1000 upvotes, and panicked a little. I would like to thank Wing Dancer and Piercing Sight for helping it along as far as they did. I had a lot of horrible family stuff going on at the time, broke down around Christmas and tried to use the story as an outlet to kill two birds with one stone, progression in the story and escapism. It backfired horribly. One of the fans of the story was a critic who held back no punches, I was under heavy unstable brain chemicals due to being exposed to recreational drugs for the first time and being in withdrawal around a very... guilt tripping family. Although they were far kinder than most families in retrospect, and I would probably be dead in a river years ago if it weren't for them and many others. On that note I'm clean yaaaaaay-

I have tried to revive this story multiple times and I have no clue how to do it without it looking half assed even at full effort and going painstakingly slow.

It's dead Jim.

Hello? Clean? Are okay?

Truthfully that happens. Story that are your first try sometimes wonder away. Especially if you have a gape in posting. If you think it is too difficult to get going and/or will not be as fun to write. It sometimes is worth it to move on. Don’t worry about it. Most of us still love you :pinkiecrazy:

Uhm...

*tries to use Raise Dead to resurrect the fic*

Sad to hear, but at least we can enjoy all the chapters that saw the light of day.

Take care of yourself, dude. Maybe one day you’ll find that spark again.

It happens. Sometimes the magic disappears and doesn't return for that story.

in the voice of Virus from Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Well, this is sad, but at least you told us instead of letting it hang for eternity with everyone knowing you probably aren't going to finish it but desperate anyway. It's nice to have as it is. Hopefully we'll get more Pickleless soon in some form or another :]

And good on you for being clean. That's awesome. I'm fighting too.

Hey, as long as you’re ok now.

*Sends hugs to Pickleless*

Well... hopefully, you don't give up on writing.

Dan

Holy smokes! You need absinthe.

As someone who has repeatedly indulged in absinthe: No. It isn't worth it unless you are a VERY controlled user.

Genie... you're free.

These things happen, I enjoyed Changling Doll, but if you just can't bring yourself to write any more, or don't think it's worth the effort, it's totally understandable. At least you're offering an explanation, that's a lot better than most stories that go down this path get.

Ah, don't worry friend. These moments happen, and the best part is when you get clarity for better or for worse. Never did a single drug in my life, but I know the effects of them, had a friend a few years back OD on something, but he learned, boy did he learn.

Oh well, thanks for letting us know. It was fun while it lasted, and it's good to have closure even if it's just knowledge that you're moving forward with your life since that's more than we usually get.

Also, it's good to hear things are going better for you personally. That's more important than the story and I certainly won't complain about improvements in your life making it impossible to get back to the mental space this story came from. Just keep moving forwards and write something new weather it's pony related or not.

You said you would need another writer and one or two editors to help?

Would you like me to see if I can arrange for that?

TDR

Two things.

I'm glad you are doing better.

And thank you for at least telling us. Often times when a fic is canceled the author just leaves and says nothing. While it's sad we won't get to see where you were going with the fic [ unless you give your notes to some one else to write] at least fans won't be waiting around for something that won't post again.

Hey man if you're ever feel down again you can always PM me or, at the very least, talk to someone about your problems. It absolutely sucks that you have to deal with these kind of things, but this is life and life is a big pain in the butt. I'm glad that things ultimately went well and you're now clean and hopefully much happier. If you ever need someone to talk to I, and I'm sure many others, will be willing to lend an ear.

Would it help if you started over with a solid plot from the get-go? I don't mean to be pushy, I just think there's a solid premise even if the rest of it didn't live up to it.

While I will miss this story, I salute the finality.

Continue as you were.

Don't worry about it too much I think. It's been five years since it came out (a week from five years exactly), and as you've changed as a writer, most of us have changed as readers too. I doubt I'd get the same enjoyment from Changeling Doll even if you updated it today with the same level of quality, style, humor, etc. anyways.

mrk

Sorry to hear that, but glad you’re doing better.

Always have the end in mind when starting a project.

Unfortunate about the story, but being clean is a pretty huge upside.

Aww thas sad but if you were ever to start it again I would be easier to just start over completely

So, would you allow people to adopt it, or publish a script as to where it was going? Just general events, and ending, if there are any. Keep creating.
