If you want something done right~

Here's a not very highly rated story I'm a fan of~ It's called If you want something done right. (Story rated mature-)

This story has a very interesting issue in the sense it has the worst start for the author specifically. It goes through the first two episodes plus a little more, and the first two episodes suck. The main character is just there at first, OC stuck in standing with his hoof up his butt. Becomes friends with Twilight, all the very cliche jazz that's a massive turn off MLP fanfics in general. Why this is personally bad for him is that he's very good at not putting any specific character on a pedestal himself as an author and everyone gets a turn to suffer and to gloat. The main character, Cloud, at the start does not have that happen much simply due to lack of involvement or need for him to do so. Luna takes interest in him, which is the most cliche mary sue start for an OC. HE'S PRINCESS LUNA'S STUDENT HYA HYUCK- He also has a power unique to himself, that, unfortunately, also comes off as cliche completely most of the time. A friend's story, love him woooo-

Then he gets banished to the opposite side of the world to Saddle Arabia.

Descriptions of towns and how the world looks around him. Heavy involvement of species besides ponies being active. Characters having obvious, big flaws they don't fix on the spot for being called out on, but also get punished repeatedly for. The story's characters take themselves seriously while the story itself does not take those characters, or the plot seriously whatsoever. Everyone is highly immoral in one way or another, for comedic effect, and not being a fan of such things usually I found myself charmed by a cast consisting of OCs mostly. After he leaves Saddle Arabia and gets into Zebrica I was hooked enough to want to keep going for my own sake and not because my friend wrote it. It had world building, vulgar, but enjoyable humor. It had arrogant, bigot characters at times without feeling preachy. It had the most cliche OC main hero, who I quickly learned existed to not only make fun of those OCs, but ended up rather charming~

Please give it a sincere try expecting a rough start. He's updating regularly again and as this story goes on it becomes more of a winner~ I expect good things from it!
