Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

*SPOILERS!* Sunset's Backstage Pass · 11:47pm Jun 27th, 2019

Again, SPOILERS follow for Sunset's Backstage Pass, the EqG special that aired in Mexico a month ahead of the US air date.

Just watched the special.

It was pretty good overall, but the music video leading up to this led you to believe the Dazzlings were going to play a much, much bigger role, not to mention that it really gave the impression that they had begun to change, or, gee I don't know, were beginning to "find the magic" of friendship?

Then because of the time loop, their encounter was pretty much made null and void anyway.

Way to pull the rug out, DHX.

At this point, I'm wondering if it's too much to hope that they'll be back before Equestria Girls wraps up, and that it'll be in a much more significant way.

It probably is too much. I can't imagine them finally addressing the most glaring loose end (Sunset's homesickness) AND giving the series' best villains a proper sendoff.

All in all, solid special, and the only points off are for what is, essentially, a bait and switch with the Find the Magic lead-up.

I mean, Forgotten Friendships did address part of Sunset's issues

Yes, part. Her reunion with Celestia was nearly perfect.

I'm hoping that there comes a point where she has to make a choice of where she will live permanently. I can only assume that we will never get a whiff about that world's version of Sunset.

True, and true

maybe find the magic takes place afterwards?

I love how these EQG specials just keep piling on JoJo battles. This one was literally just Bite The Dust from Part 4.

Although, I was expecting Pinkie to be the one using the reset so she could try and have a 'correct' version of the day she wanted to spend with Sunset.

Eh, I like the Dazzlings better the way they were in the special, even if they were just there to be decoy antagonists. They're still bitter about being stuck in the human world, but they're at least trying to make the most of what they've got. Though I imagine their fame isn't going to last long before someone exposes their "trick".
