Quick Update on Stuff + A Sort Of Announcement

Hey all, just figured I'd let you all know what's going down.

First off, since I know some of you might be wondering: no, there are no real updates on Retrograde at the moment. My "real life" situation has improved ever so slightly, but I'm still spread too thin to work on a collab project at a reasonable pace. I'm really sorry that things have basically stopped in regards to Retrograde, as a lot of it comes down to me being too exhausted by circumstances outside of my control when it's convenient to go over plot stuff with RQK. I can't really expect him to drop whatever he's doing to talk to me about Retrograde stuff when it's not convenient for him, since the dude is pretty busy doing nerd stuff. I'll spare you all the "woe is me" stuff, but just know that as soon as I have something to say in regards to Retrograde's next chapter, I'll make an update about it. I never intended this fic to stick around this long (nor has RQK, quite frankly), but alas, this is what happens when life... well... happens.

In regards to non-collab things, since I am trying to at least be somewhat productive, I've been having a bit of trouble holding down some concepts. I have made some progress (however little) on the rewrite of "Expect the Unexpected," and once I finish the rewrite, I may make a post looking for an editor to help me make sure it's the best it can be. It's planned to be a little longer than the original version, though how much longer it'll be is not known at the moment. I can't say when it'll be done either, since I want it to be a noticeable improvement over the old version. I want to try posting something else first, but the jury's still out on whether or not I can crank out some other thing before then.

Given the leaked special, and the concept therein, and how much I ended up enjoying it Pinkie's stupid moments not withstanding, I've already started kicking around some loose ideas for a fic. I haven't actually been so motivated by a piece of MLP or EqG media since... well, Forgotten Friendship. Working with the concept of time loops caused by an Equestrian artifact is honestly full of potential in regards to fanfics.Funny how specials that revolve around Sunset and a Magical Artifact end up being the ones that give me the most ideas for fanfics, huh? I'm going to draft a rough plot line, and if anything comes of it, then you'll see it... probably after the official US release date of Sunset's Backstage Pass? No promises.

In regards to the contest I thought about hosting, I'm thinking I'm going to go through with it. I'm narrowing down the "theme" of the contest, and I'm hoping to have it run from sometime in July to... the middle of September at the latest? That way there's a good window of opportunity for entries to come in. Once I have ironed out a few more details, I'll let you all know. Just know that, barring some stuff outside of my hands, there'll be a contest in the future.
