    Story update and other stuff

Believe it or not I've actually started a new job at long last. I'd only planned on staying with my last employer six months, but ended up being stuck there for nearly five years. During my time there I had to put up with some of the worst bigotry I've ever encountered, despite the company claiming to be 'inclusive, supportive of diversity, etc'. Spoiler alert : They weren't!

    Bon Bon's story.

Seems to be coming along well. 365 pages at 192,769 words.

    We'll get there.

    Story Update

Now on page 280 of Bon Bon's story. Looking good so far, but quite a technical challenge as she's been involved in other parts of the Fairlight story arc and I need to be careful tying it all together. I'm also aware that I will need to incorporate Lyra's story into it too.

    Continuing on

Despite one of the readers claiming that they had felt like vomiting after reading my last story, I have pressed on with my scribblings. Apparently eliciting a physical and -or- an emotional response from a story is considered a good thing. Or so I'm told.

Back from the USA · 11:32am Jun 22nd, 2019

After two weeks in the US of A, I have returned alive and well.

I've stayed the last couple of weeks with my family in Cundy's Harbor, Maine, enjoying some much needed relaxation, peace, and quiet. For the first time in longer than I care to recall there were no dogs barking, no kids screaming, and nothing but a happy appreciation for the natural beauty of this state where I met some truly wonderful people. This holiday was full of firsts for me: First time on a plane, first time in the US, first time piloting a boat, and so on and so forth.

If there was one thing that truly struck me about the US, other than the beautiful weather, how clean everything was and the mind boggling amount of signs(!), it was how friendly everyone was (Other than the customs staff in the airport who were the complete opposite) . I don't know whether it's the abundance of sunshine or something else, but I was made to feel so welcome by complete strangers that it gave me a renewed faith in humanity.

The United Kingdom is my home and I have a family and friends here, but there was something about Maine that really touched my heart. I hope to go back one day, and who knows, maybe one day I will. Still, as much as I would love to live there myself, the mosquitoes are a serious problem for me, and I was almost eaten alive! Say what you like about the UK and its grey, dreary weather, but at least I don't wake up in the night feeling like I need to scrub myself all over with sandpaper. Damn those things are nasty! :pinkiehappy: Mind you, it was a price I would gladly pay to enjoy living in such an expanse of natural marvels.

Work on the new story will hopefully start soon.

Toodles.
