Hello everypony, I’m late, I just got finish watching Snowpiercer finally, a really good movie, by the way, I'm glad you are here for the season finale of tidbits. This one though is not extremely long, it is a heavy one. This one adds so much weight to the season one finale that will affect my entire universe for years. This tidbit will not only be important to Journey To Hearth’s Warming but to every story I post in this universe from now on. This is the Hand of Elisus…

To many, these are known as great omens. Giant monolithic structures forged from purely solidified dark magic into the shape a hand covered in cracks. Not very clear which hand it meant to represent since there are thumbs on both sides and each finger are an exact length. Nor is it possible to discern the species the hand herald from.
The first one was discovered by none other than Princess Celestia herself, during her exploratory years before Equestria was founded. Though, she dates it in one of her oldest books with completely exact measurements she has never truly reveal where the first one stood.
She as well as many others after her describe these things to be of incredible sizes and having a very strange effect on the world around them. Not really a unified size, but often the monolithic stand anywhere from fifty meters to one thousand meters tall and from twenty meters wide to over five hundred meters wide. They have a strange smell to them almost akin to old blood mixed with a heavily burnt iron.
Though, they were often seen as a symbol of fear the effects on the world around them that is almost always their most dangerous trait. The greater the size, the greater and more dangerous the effect. Space itself seems to distort around them, making things appear closer than they really are or flat out twist the very land and sky with the biggest even bending the very space inside the flesh of organisms. Leading to extreme pain, devastating mutation within birth rates or even death. In fact, direct contact can often rip apart flesh in an instant or even crush bones.
Despite being forged from solidified dark magic Celestia never once believed they were the creation of Sanity the very ideal of darkness and space but rather a descendant of his bloodline. A descendant whose power must have been truly terrifying to see.
The name they were give was because of two things each and every single one of them has in common. First, the shape is always of a hand, as stated before it is completely unclear which had, but most ponies that lay eyes upon it without closer inspection claim it is the right hand, though leading doesn't know why such assumptions are always constantly made. The Second detail that gives it it's name is the most important, the cracks that line every single inch of them. These Cracks slowly grow bigger with each century, yet the monolithic never seem to lose stability.
Henceforth, the shape and the cracks give them the name Hand of Shattered, of simply Hand of Elisus.
